Our 58th Sawdust Art Festival Summer 2024 season soared beyond imagination, all thanks to your love for Laguna Beach arts. You let us know how much you appreciate our creative community, and we couldn’t be more grateful. As we pack up our summer, we look forward to welcoming you back to our Winter Fantasy Festival, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays November 22nd to December 22nd, where under a canopy of twinkling lights, the eucalyptus grove will be transformed into a village of extraordinary holiday wonder. So, until we meet again, let us say with full hearts, thank you for making Sawdust Art Festival unforgettable.

Our Story
Sawdust Art Festival is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public and promoting art created by local artisans in Laguna Beach, Calif. Since its inception, the festival has celebrated and supported the work of its hometown artists. The Sawdust Art Festival is non-juried, so it plays a vital role in supporting the careers of many local artists. With two main events annually –Sawdust Art Festival summer festival (June to August), and Winter Fantasy (November to December), the organization is designed to both educate and entertain.
For nine weeks during the summer, Sawdust Art Festival draws more than 200,000 visitors. Guests are invited to shop along sawdust-covered paths in a hand-built village of fine art and eclectic craftsmanship. All summer artists are Laguna Beach residents however Winter Fantasy features non-locals. The Sawdust Festival grounds are transformed into a winter wonderland with thousands of lights and decorations for five weekends in November and December, showcasing work by 180 international artists.
Sawdust also offers a robust year-round art program onsite, Sawdust Art Classes, featuring a comprehensive array of art and studio workshops taught by working Sawdust artists.
HISTORY In the mid 1960s, personal freedom of expression broke out and with it, a vibrant arts and crafts movement. In Laguna Beach, that creative energy brought together an influx of young artists and craftspeople, as well as talented local artists who had been juried out of the only summer art festival in town. Fueled by a passionate desire for artistic independence and wanting something fresh and exciting, the Sawdust Festival was born.
