This page is managed by the volunteers of the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter, to promote the shelter's mission to adopt each animal into a compatible and permanent home, and to provide relevant information. The shelter serves the residents of Laguna Beach and Laguna Woods by providing temporary care of sick, injured, and strayed or abandoned animals rescued by the animal services officers in the City of Laguna Beach and the City of Laguna Woods.
The Laguna Beach Animal Shelter will be closed for animal viewing on August 26-28. Our lobby will be open for licensing and inquiries.

Sasha and Malia arrived at the shelter together, and they are leaving together! We are so glad the 2 sisters will continue to provide companionship and love to each other!

Charlie had a rough start at the shelter, dealing with several health issues. But nothing could take away from his cuteness. While recovering, Charlie found his match! And now that he is medically cleared, he can finally go to his .
Many of you will remember our boy Sparky, who was a shelter resident for a couple of years. His humans send us regular updates on his adventures, and we thought we would share them with you! Sparky is living his best life, getting tons of attention from his humans, attending training classes, hanging out with his 4-legged siblings, and chasing squirrels (he has not caught one yet!). He is so loved, and we are simply thrilled that he found his perfect .
During his time at the shelter, Mayor loved to be petted and showered with attention. His affectionate personality definitely made him stand out. We are glad that he found a human who will dote on him.

Ariel had to wait a long time for her perfect match, and we are glad she finally found het humans. Our 3-legged sweet beauty won many hearts at the shelter, but it is time for her to say goodbye to us. We wish Ariel all the best and hope that her humans will bring her for visits. ❤️
Millie of the soft brown eyes found her match! Her now human adopted another poodle (Arthur/Lucky) from the shelter a few years ago. Lucky crossed the rainbow bridge recently, and we hope that Millie will fill the void that he left. Good luck to these two lucky ladies who found each other!
Our first "Pets for Veterans" adoption! Trick found his with a loving family and a feline sibling. We are grateful for his adoptive family's service to our country!
Weston arrived at the shelter as an energetic and cute as a button puppy. We knew that he would find his quickly once he was cleared to be adopted. He left the shelter with great fanfare, with shelter employee Kathleen Sherwood, Chief of Police of Laguna Beach Jeff Calvert and Captain David Dereszynski in attendance.

Our sweet Nellie found her match! When Nellie first arrived at the shelter, she was very shy and not very trusting of humans. With time and care, she came out of her shell, and her sweet and friendly personality became visible for all to see. We wish Nellie the best and all the cuddles she could wish for! ❤️

These two Chihuahua siblings arrived at the shelter as tiny pups. Abby (now Salsa) and Mini (now Taco) found their together! We are so glad that the brother and sister will be sharing their new adventures!
