SKÖG Haus Coffee
What grew from this dream was SKÖG Haus Coffee. We can’t wait to meet you! Thank you so much for considering us for your next amazing cup of coffee.
It all started with a passion for coffee, a mission to support our local community and to release more kindness and goodness into the world through the process. SKÖG Haus Coffee is a mobile, specialty coffee shop that serves our wonderful North Seattle community and its surrounding neighborhoods. We can't wait to meet you!

Hello beautiful community! ❤️
For those of you who may have missed our stories last month giving you a very sneak peek into our new brick & mortar space, here it is! Still very much raw, just concrete walls and floor, we were able to put up some temporary signage before our building permits came back just last week for us to begin construction. We are still looking forward to a late fall opening and will keep you posted here!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of us at our current location in our mobile shop in Lake Forest Park. It’ll be 3 years this month that it all began! You are what keeps us showing up each morning and we are so grateful to be of service to such a beautiful community. ❤️
Summer has officially arrived and with the Solstice, so have our Summer Seasonals!
Honoring the fruits of the season, we have our coffee beverage, Iced Blackberry & White Chocolate Latte, made with organic syrups and espresso from our favorites and .
We have a seasonal tea beverage as well and this summer it’s the freshest Iced Strawberry Matcha made again with ‘s organic syrup and also ‘s organic Matcha. The two together are summer in a cup.
Enjoy and happy Summer!!! ☀️
Finishing cleaning up the shop today and a new-ish customer of ours comes in. He says he doesn’t need anything, only to say thank you for the kindness he has received from us. It came to him during a time of need and he told me he feels the need to pass it along whenever he can which I’m grateful for. He took a wrong turn today and found himself close by so came in to tell me. We talked about how it’s a practice, that it isn’t always easy. I thanked him for his courage to stop and tell me this and that this way of being for us was an intention that we set at the very beginning of our journey. To practice intentional kindness. I know in my heart that we are having an impact. I see it in people’s faces. And sometimes I don’t and that’s ok. We all receive what we are capable of in each moment. I’m so grateful to have someone share their experience of this with us from such an emotional, heartfelt space so wanted to share with you as you all are part of this beautiful web.
Never underestimate the power of your kindness, your presence. Even when you think it may not matter or may not land. It does. And it does. So grateful for you joining us on this journey. ❤️
Each morning, I make an intentional act to see something good in the day ahead. I don’t always succeed but I’ve been at this long enough I can usually find something that shifts my focus to good.
Often, it’s being able to see and spend time with you all and this weekend in addition to that, it’s knowing that your showing up is helping us show love and support to our son’s class—the Shorecrest Seniors—as we are taking a portion of all sales and helping to make their senior class’s safe grad night, Senior Spree, more fun and safe. ❤️
It’s the little things and for me, it’s always the
L O V E that shifts my mood to one of J O Y. Join us!!! We couldn’t do it without you and we are grateful. ❤️
Brick & Mortar Update! —
It’s been a bit and so much has been happening behind the scenes with us and our fabulous design and architect team that we can finally let you know, we submitted our plans last week (!!!) to both the city and county. Now we wait…for approval and permits to begin construction. Stay tuned for more when we have it!
In the meantime, these are the days we dream about all year…when our mobile shop is open to the glorious elements of spring and summer and the gratitude, although always there, is easier to find.
And to everyone who shows up over and over again, to those of you who stop by on your way through town, and to those new to the area who are making it by for the first time, we are grateful for you choosing us and love the time we share with you. ❤️
BLOOM. It’s the time of year when not only Mother Nature is in full bloom but also when our young adults are getting ready to flourish into their next season; graduating Highschool and stepping into the next chapter of their big, beautiful lives. Our youngest son is one of them. All of his friends that we’ve been so blessed to have in our lives are moving on. This isn’t coffee or tea related, but like we say, “it’s about more than just coffee & tea.”
We want to take a moment to honor and recognize all of the choices and directions these kiddos are headed in because it isn’t a one size fits all decision or choice. And it shouldn’t be because we aren’t one size fits all individuals. Allow yourself to be curious, to step outside of your comfort zone, to ask questions of yourself, to be courageous, and to be grateful. It isn’t easy. But the more you do these, the more you are honoring yourself. What does this next season look like to you? What fuels you? What brings you joy? It doesn’t have to look like what others are doing. It doesn’t have to be what others think it should be. This is your chapter, how do you want to write it?
We want you to know that we celebrate you and the choice(es) you make for what’s next and hope these last weeks you have together before moving on are full of the love and joy you have for yourself and each other. Thank you for making time to join us at the shop when you could! And thank you for being part of our lives in all the big and small ways. Cheers to all the things you’ve accomplished and all the things you’ve yet to accomplish, to all the lessons that taught you something more than you imagined, and to all the things to come, we are SO proud of you!!! Never doubt that you are AMAZING. 💕

Thank you for your understanding! ❤️
Thank you all so much for your patience and excitement these last three months of waiting and wondering where our brick & mortar space will be. We are so grateful to have taken the time and due diligence necessary to now be, finally, exhaling after signing our lease this weekend here, at Terrace Station.❤️
Although not at all far from our current location, we know it will be closer for some and further for others, especially those who walk to our current mobile shop. Like everything else we do, we put so much thought and intention behind being as close to our community here in LFP as we could while still being able to secure a space that was welcoming, has parking, with fabulous landlords, in a location that is excited to create a neighborhood vibe with us!
We are currently looking at a fall opening and will, of course, continue to operate our mobile shop during this exciting process! Our hope is to then continue some sort of presence with our mobile shop in LFP afterwards, although we don’t yet know exactly what that will look like…
This evolution wouldn’t be possible without our phenomenal community who comes from so many different neighborhoods and puts so much effort into supporting our small, local, independent shop! We forget sometimes, as consumers in this faced paced world, that the money we spend at a locally owned, independent business helps keep that business open. That when we choose to show up for these indie shops, that business not only succeeds and thrives but so do our beautiful communities that are part of them! We are so grateful for you showing up for us and for us being able to continue to spread our love far and wide in the process because every intentional interaction we have with you makes such a difference in this world. Thank you! ❤️
One of our greatest joys is being of service to our community. When we say, “it’s about more than just coffee and tea”, we mean our presence here isn’t just about that…(although we do pride ourselves and our partners for helping us craft a beautiful tasting beverage).
More than this though is our focus on how you are received here. We want you to feel that we see you, that you matter, and we want to meet you where you are in each moment with kindness, gratitude, and joy for your being here, not just in our space but in this world. You are valued and you are loved and we want to be a place where you are reminded of this, without a thought to why, because you just are.
It’s sometimes easy in this fast pace world to not feel seen or to see others. To not make eye contact. To not say hello or ask the name of the person in front of you. This is why we try our very best, each moment, to do exactly these things. And this is why it might take a minute or two longer while you’re standing in line. Because each one of you matters to us and “slow coffee” takes time, not just to craft but to care. If you don’t have the time, that’s ok. Maybe we aren’t the place for you if you are always in a hurry. But maybe we are the place you need the most to practice those moments of presence, of slowing down, of savoring the sounds, the smells, the interactions going on around you, and the community of people next to you.
We encourage all of this because there is so much more to this life than what’s on the surface. We hope you carry this care and kindness with you, throughout your day, and give it away freely as you care for and interact with those around you. At the end of the day, we are all doing the best we can with what we are capable of in each moment.
If you didn’t already know, we are grateful for you and we are so glad you are here. ❤️
Hello beautiful community! I’m here to clarify our hours of operation and to offer some suggestions for continuing to stay updated!
Monday—closed
Tuesday—7am—noon
Wednesday—7am-noon
Thursday—7am-noon
Friday—7am-noon
Saturday—8am-noon
Sunday—8am-noon
Because we are mobile and are required to leave each afternoon to return the next morning, there may be times when you drive by and don’t see us. If there’s a day we are normally open and we aren’t there, most likely something weather related or personal has occurred to keep us from opening.
This is when checking Google Maps will give you our most updated schedule for the day in question. Our IG story will most likely also reflect any closure. (Sadly, not FB, not Apple Maps, not an earlier post of ours or someone else’s old post or even our website will reflect any last minute closure).
We once had someone stop by and say we were like a unicorn. I thought, how COOL…we are unique, and magical, and unlike anyplace else! He said, no, he just never knew when we were going to be here. 🦄
Good morning beautiful community! There are days when the weather is conducive to standing outside and waiting for your favorite beverage and you all show up and are patient for the craft that is necessary for us to do what we do and we are so very grateful.
You showing up helps balance out the days when we’ve had to be closed because of the cold or snow or ice, which isn’t easy on a small business. So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for choosing to make us part of your day. ❤️
This is the time of year we’ve come to understand that grace and trust are paramount for our business. The time of year when Mother Nature surprises us with her winter. Here in the PNW winter doesn’t often look like temps in the teens or freezing rain…
Days like today, after a weekend like last, we go back and forth with what it might look like to try and get the TinyShiny out and down to where we set up shop. Is it too risky? Is it safe for our customers? For us? Is it worth the risk of something happening? “But we’ve been closed for 5 days already…are you sure we can’t try…?” Welcome to our world of going through all the questions that finally bring us to the conclusion that no, it isn’t worth the risk.
One silver lining, and there are many if we choose to look for them, is that we won’t need to do this next winter. So grateful for that and for the opportunity to be indoors at a location that is stationary instead of mobile. (More on that another day…!)
As always, we appreciate your grace and understanding on days like today where we can’t be open. Thank you. We look forward to seeing you very soon. ❤️
❤️ In everything we do we always have a choice to encourage the positive or the negative. May we always ask ourselves which of these our actions are affirming. Let our energies always move to the vibration of love. Honoring this day.
PLEASE remember to always check our stories and/or Google Maps for our most current hours and days of operation, this week especially with cold temps and possible snow in the forecast.
Being mobile on a daily basis, twice a day, and having a big, wide window open to whatever Mother Nature brings us makes it necessary to sometimes shift gears and reevaluate what we are capable of.
Thank you, as always, for your understanding and for your beautiful support of us. We are so grateful! ❤️
A new day, a new year. ✨
We hope you all cherish what you are leaving behind, grateful for all it taught you, and also looking forward to cherishing what’s to come.
Today my greatest lesson was surrendering to what showed up instead of being upset for it not being how I wanted it to be.
Here’s to a new year of trusting our inner voice or maybe even just learning to know what it sounds and feels like. ❤️

Brick & Mortar UPDATE: Thank you all for your patience as we navigate our way through the ins and outs of finding an indoor home for SKÖG Haus Coffee & Tea!
We have found a space not far from our current location and one that has not only returned our emails and phone calls (you’d be SO surprised to learn how many have actually, sadly, done neither) but is also so excited to have us help build community and create a grounded-in-kindness-and-love neighborhood vibe. We are beyond excited, too!
We are currently in the process of a lease negotiation. Please know that we are moving forward and when it is signed and we are certain this is where we will be, we will let you all know where we will be setting up shop, literally. ❤️
Sometimes life catches you off guard and everything you planned and looked forward to doesn’t happen. You do everything to stay healthy and then you aren’t. That happened to us this week. We are ok, nothing time won’t heal, just highly disruptive and very disappointing. In the big picture, it’s just a glitch in this moment of our life. But it’s easy to feel like it’s so much bigger, to continue to be upset, frustrated, and so sad. It’s harder, but oh so important, to see that maybe this was how it needed to play out…for us to honor where we are and find gratitude where we can instead of wishing for something different. Of course I can still wish for it, but I don’t need to let it continue to disrupt me, everything, and everyone else around me, and take over the time we do still have together as a family. I’m grateful for this awareness.
We had planned to be open again tomorrow but are taking a couple extra days for rest and time before our oldest flys out. Our new plan is to be open Sunday, New Year’s Eve, 8am—noon. We hope to see you then, that you’ve had a lovely week, and appreciate, as always, your grace and understanding. ❤️
We will miss you today, Saturday December 23rd, and hope you all have a lovely holiday week.
Catch us this week until Saturday, which will be our last day of this week! We will be closed for holiday time with family from Sunday, December 24th through Thursday, December 28th. We plan to be open and welcoming you back next Friday! (as always, please check our stories or Google—not Apple—maps for our most current hours).
May this most lovely of Winter Solstice days and the promise of more daylight to come along with these last days of this year allow moments of rest, celebration (if you honor a holiday during this time), contemplation and deep love.
Please know we are wishing you all the blessings of this season. ✨
This season, these last few months of each year, shares celebrations across cultures. We may celebrate one different from yours, and you may celebrate one we recognize and honor and don’t celebrate ourselves but still hold in reverence for you.
This is the beauty of the diversity of this world. They all have a place. We honor them all. We honor you all.
Whatever your faith, we celebrate the love and the light they all share in common. As Rumi is quoted as saying, “I belong to no religion. My religion is love. Every heart is my temple.” May we all recognize the depth of our humanity and of our world and the interconnectedness that resides throughout it all and shower each other with love and peace this season of holidays. ❤️
For those of you who have followed our journey of raising capital for our brick & mortar through community investment, you know that our campaign, which ended Friday of last week, was a huge success and has allowed us to generate the funding needed to begin to move forward on our vision for a SKÖG Haus Coffee & Tea indoor shop.
We had 110 investors support our vision and we surpassed our stretch goal! We were excited to use a community investment platform ( ) knowing it would be this beautiful giving and receiving of funds from our community to us and us back to our community. It seemed so much more lovely to share our revenue with our community rather than a big bank.
All of this to say that as we look through our investor list we see names we recognize, some distinctly and some possibly, and others we don’t yet know by name. Please tell us when you visit us, if you want to share, that you joined us on this journey. We’d LOVE to thank you in person. ❤️
We will post more as we have more to share. Thank you again to our investors and to all of you who joined us by encouraging, sharing, being excited, being curious, visiting us at the shop, and any other way you offered support to ensure our success. We are grateful. ❤️
Wow friends, we are blown away by the excitement in the last hours of our campaign to raise investment for our brick & mortar! Only 6 hours remaining!!! And we are just shy of our stretch goal!
If you haven’t yet checked it out and are curious, the link is in our bio both here on IG and also on our FB page. All opportunities to invest will close at 9pm PST tonight!
Thank you to our current 94 investors! We are so grateful for your support and to everyone who has shared, been curious, or excited for us, we are beyond grateful to you all! ❤️
!
Hello friends! This is the final week of our investment campaign—ONLY 3 DAYS remaining—and we couldn’t be more overwhelmed and humbled by the generosity of so many of you.
This next chapter of our Coffee & Tea shop is even more exciting knowing our win is your win! By investing in us, you are ‘invested’ in our success; you are saying you want more of what we do and what we bring to our community and we are grateful to you and for you. ❤️
You can invest with a minimum of $100. And if this season doesn’t allow the option to invest, please know there are so many other ways you can support—*share this or other posts or stories explaining our campaign, *tell those whose vision or values align with ours, *share the link in our bio. We are grateful for your help!
! ❤️
From our small business to you, we are SO GRATEFUL for your support of us and other small businesses during this day, this season of giving, and every day! ❤️
It’s the moments that take our breath away. The people we share our most precious time with.
This is what Thanksgiving means to us. This is what you mean to us. Gratitude. Sharing of time, of food, of drink, honoring what we are grateful for. We seek to make it a day, and then 364 more days, that honors all, and respects all.
It can also look like being true to ourselves and our needs. Speaking our truth, gently, with kindness if what we need may be different, solo, or not how our family has always celebrated. However you spend this day, please know that we wish it to be gentle and full of grace.
We are thankful for you joining us on this journey. We hope your Thanksgiving shines of love and light and that you feel even a tiny, precious bit or our gratitude for you. ❤️
Trying to find the perfect photo, I came across this one from one of my last hikes of the season. The photo is a beautiful metaphor for the upcoming holiday season. (if you can’t tell, there’s a tiny cluster of mushrooms in the bottom right corner)
These sweet, little, local mushrooms are vying for sunlight and space among the bigger more established trees of the forest.
The same is true for all of us small, local businesses. If you know me, you know that shopping local, sometimes going out of our way to buy from a place that offers and supports local artists, artisans, makers, and farmers is so very important…especially this time of year. And we are SO BLESSED to live in an area where we have an abundance of these!
Most, if not all, of us highly value our community and our local economy. If we don’t make the effort to support local, who will?
This year, instead of ordering randomly online for your gifts, find a day, or two, to seek out shops or markets that offer locally made goods. Or ask your favorite maker where they sell locally! This way you are supporting a local store and the maker whose goodness is sold there, too. Two in one! AND if you make a day out of it, you can support an amazing local coffee shop or restaurant, too. ❤️
Speak with your dollars this holiday season. Say, “I want more of these places” by supporting them. Spend where it is you want more of. It isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it to show up for your community, join us!!!
This sign sits outside our mobile shop. It’s there as a reminder to everyone who visits, who walks or drives by. It is truly a heartfelt message to you all. Thank you for your thoughtful, kind hearts and messages yesterday. ❤️
We are so grateful to have such a beautiful, supportive community. As a small business, it can be hard to make decisions that impact our community…especially last minute. It can also be hard not to worry how doing something like this will be received. The thoughtfulness and love you showed fills us up with gratitude. Thank you.
At the end of the day, we hope when something unexpected comes up, you all do the same and care for yourself and your family before all else.
We are well and grateful for your continued support of us. ❤️ We look forward to seeing you Wednesday!
We love to change our seasonal beverages on the Solstice and the Equinox and are happy to still be honoring this Fall with our seasonal coffee—The Autumnal— and our seasonal tea—Cardamom Matcha.
Both are made with the loveliest of organic syrups from , flavorful but not at all overly sweet.
The Autumnal features pumpkin & spice syrup, two espresso shots, steamed milk or milk alternative (we use unsweetened oat or almond) plus a dusting of pumpkin pie spice powder.
The Cardamom Matcha features cardamom syrup, Matcha (which has a touch of organic cane sugar and Madagascar vanilla—also beautifully flavored but not overly sweet), plus steamed milk or milk alternative.
Both beverages sing with the flavors of Fall in much different ways. We hope you enjoy these lovely options as much as we do.❤️
“Be a beautiful part of our expansion”! ❤️
With just a little less than 30 days remaining in our campaign, I want to clarify, this is not a donation. It’s an investment with a financial return. Our success is your success.
If you haven’t had time to check it out, please do! (link is in our bio) Investments can be as little as $100. And if that isn’t possible but you still want to support us, please share this post or the link. We are grateful for any and all support. ❤️
The last couple weeks we’ve had of both frigid cold and pouring rain makes this move to an indoor space even more inviting. Please join us in reaching and even surpassing our initial goal. If half our followers invested the minimum of $100 we would blow this out of the water!
Thank you to those who have already invested in our success. We are so excited to be on this journey with you, with your support of us, and with your belief in us! ❤️

We are SKÖG Haus. Our mission is to Change the World Through Coffee...Join us!
Hi, we are Heather and Dave and with our sons, Vaughn and Finn, and our nephew, Caen, we are the family behind, SKÖG Haus Coffee! It all started with a dream to build our own business and to release more kindness and more goodness into the world through the process. We wanted to create something we could be proud of that included all the things that are meaningful to us…family, friends, and community, the Pacific Northwest, intentional kindness, love, and compassion, local, sustainable and ethical with an emphasis on a passion for going above and beyond people’s expectations.
What grew from this dream was the idea for SKÖG Haus Coffee, a mobile, specialty coffee business that could serve our wonderful North Seattle community of Shoreline Washington and its surrounding neighborhoods. We could highlight local businesses in the process from our espresso machine designed and built by our friend Mike from Mavam Espresso to our baked goods from Lauren at Grain Artisan Bakery and our locally roasted coffee beans from Emma and Fernando at Bellingham Coffee Roasters.
Our logo shows the belief in our four pillars and the strength of our business as Origin, Community, Intention, and Care. Our Origin is the Pacific Northwest and all of its beauty from the mountains to the sound. Our Community is our neighbors; the caring people from here and all over the world who gather in this small suburb outside of Seattle and also the local artisans we will be doing business with. Our Intention is love and kindness and all of the meanings that these words represent in each and every interaction we have and our Care is the choice we make in all that we do that support our world now and for the future.
We know we all have a choice of how we spend our money. How that with each purchase, we are voting with our dollars and basically saying, “Yes! I want more of this!”. Our dream has always been to have a business where we vote with our dollars in every choice we make and every interaction we have which will help us build a better world for all of us. We want you and those who visit SKÖG Haus Coffee to know that everything we do for you, we do with that same care and intention for building a community of kind people, starting with us. With each small act and each intentional interaction, we are changing the world through coffee...join us!
People have always asked us, “Why coffee?” and we have always answered, “Why not?” Why not change the world using something you love and enjoy as your vehicle; something that can be a ritual or tradition for some or just a way to gather and be together for others. For those of you who prefer something other than coffee, we will have tea and smoothies too!
Thank you so much for considering SKÖG Haus Coffee, for visiting us when you come to the Pacific Northwest, and for having us host your next event. We can’t wait to meet you!
