Over the weekend, competed in her first power lifting competition- and took 1st place!! Lawan has quietly been working on her squat, bench press and deadlift before and after classes each evening. Months of hard work and preparation paid off with two PRs (back squat and deadlift) giving her the top podium spot! Lawan, we couldn’t be more proud of you and excited to see what the future holds!
We hope all our Fortitude moms had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Here are the workouts for The Fortitude Games next Saturday, 5/20! We are so excited to watch y'all throw down. For those participating, the details and movement standards were emailed out and posted to the Facebook event page.

Recently, our coaches and spoke at the Obesity Medicine Association conference in NYC. Part of their talk touched on how can be a great approach for folks that have lost significant weight to keep that weight off. They spoke about how their partnership is changing lives. Dr. Francavilla (Coach Care) spoke about her approach to treating obesity and part of that treatment is finding movement that people enjoy. That's where our gym and Coach Stephanie come in. is infinitely scalable and Coach Stephanie has shown that to be true by becoming a specialist for larger body or injured athletes who may need very specific modifications due to range of motion issues, safety concerns, pain, and previous injuries. Together, they have built a beautiful partnership that covers medical treatment and movement for everyone.
Cynthia is rockin her new CFCF beanie 😍 Also crushing every workout we give her- this woman’s progress has been intense! Thank you to everyone who has been part of her journey- you’ll be seeing her in class more and more!
Let’s talk about goals for a minute. What does it take to accomplish them, especially when you shoot for the stars? Consistency. Dedication. Showing up and putting the work in even when you don’t feel like it. Making a plan and executing every single day. Anything less and your goals become a dream. Lawan set a deadlift goal of 300 # for the end of 2023. You’ve seen her in the gym nearly everyday, over on the sidelines before and after class, getting in reps. Focused, determined, refusing to let excuses get in her way. March 24th she smashed through her 2023 goal, pulling 300 # off the ground like she had more in the tank. CONGRATULATIONS, LAWAN! You should be very, very proud!! LaWan Gibson
We are partnering with Lions’ Pride Fitness to change the game with folks transitioning from prison back into society. We've started by offering free workouts at the new Denver County Jail's "Impact Center." We all know that working out in a loving, supportive community can be life-changing. We're offering the same to these folks that have served their time and are trying to reintegrate & be functional members of society.

How much protein should you eat as an athlete? Generally, most CrossFit athletes should be taking in .7-1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight each day to ensure you're recovering and getting the most out of each workout. Check out our new blog post for more info! Clickable link in Bio.

With icy roads already throughout Lakewood and Jeffco and heavy snow predicted until 6am tomorrow, we’re canceling morning classes to keep everyone off the roads and safe. The storm should ease up through the day tomorrow and we anticipate having evening classes as scheduled. Stay tuned to social media and your email for any additional changes and stay warm! ❄️
However you celebrate, we hope you found joy and peace! Merry Christmas, CFCF family!
The whole crew came out to play! One event left at WODs for Toys 🎄
We're so thankful for every single one of you. Happy Thanksgiving, team!
Friday morning classes (11/18) are cancelled ❄️ Snow is predicted to continue through the night with temperatures in the low teens and single digits, creating dangerous driving conditions in the morning. It will be 9° during morning classes, so we’d like our athletes to avoid driving if possible. Predictions are for the weather to improve throughout the day tomorrow, so we hope to see you at evening classes tomorrow night. Stay warm! 🥶
Important Announcement! All evening classes on Thursday, 11/17 are cancelled due to hazardous driving conditions. This weather system has created abnormally cold conditions and every bit of moisture falling will freeze, creating a sheet of ice. We hope all our athletes will take the opportunity to stay home and avoid the roads tonight and tomorrow morning, if possible. Stay tuned to texts, email and social media regarding morning class cancellations.

Thanks to Dr. Anjali from for hosting a Trauma Informed Coaching session yesterday! It was so informative and insightful. Thank you for arming us on how we can better approach our athletes with big trauma events, long-term exposure to smaller trauma, vicarious trauma, and long-term stress leading to trauma. We discussed the science of what happens to our brain when we experience trauma, how to recognize athletes who have been triggered, how to do our best to prevent triggering trauma responses, and how to communicate and de-escalate when folks are triggered within the gym. 🤯 Thanks to Lion’s Pride Fitness] for putting this together in an effort to help with people transitioning from incarceration to the "real world". Stay tuned for big things happening with Lion’s Pride Fitness] !
