Worship Center

We are a church that desires to know Jesus, grow together, and serve our world. Join us Sundays on-site or online at 9 + 11 AM.

ASL + Spanish Translation at 11 AM. Church isn't about showing up, listening to awesome music and going through the motions. It is about finding God's purpose and living a worshipful life built on the foundation of God's Word, despite life's challenges and our own shortcomings. At Worship Center, we look to Scripture and to the Holy Spirit for greater purpose in life, as well as through genuine relationships, inspiring community, and generously serving those in need.

We are a church desiring to know Jesus, grow together, and serve our world. 🙏

Yesterday, Pastor Matt talked us through what it looks like to be engaged in our church's mission and what it truly means to be growing followers of Jesus. Every follower of Jesus has the opportunity and responsibility to participate in the mission of Jesus. Knowing Jesus starts with being spiritually born-again, growing together means finding your part as a member of the body, and serving our world means being a witness of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.

How is the Holy Spirit prompting you to participate in his mission right now?

"And now, after a few decades of following Jesus, I realize the cost is even more clear."

Throughout this eight-week series, we took time to more deeply understand Jesus's teachings from the Sermon on the Mount. Yesterday, Pastor Matt wrapped up the series by talking about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and truly counting the cost of following him. We also got to witness and celebrate with so many in our church who decided to take a next step in their walk with Jesus by getting baptized!

The life of truly following Jesus is a narrow road. Following Jesus also means surrendering to him as Lord. Our lives will look different compared to most people and require much sacrifice of our own ways. But it also means having joy unspeakable, peace surpassing understanding, and great purpose for everyday life that comes from the Lord and not the temporary things of this world.

Have you counted the cost of following Jesus?

That's a wrap on Serve Week with Worship Center Outreach ! All week long, our church took the time to serve different organizations and those in need in our local community. We did projects like packing food, sewing clothes and personal care products, helping widows with house projects, cleaning, fixing, and doing yard work needed on different properties, and the list goes on.

As a church, we desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving others—whether that be across the globe or right here in our local community. We are grateful for all the opportunities we had this week to meet the needs of our neighbors right here in Lancaster and for those of you who joined us in this effort. May this past week spur us on to continue reaching out to love and serve those around us—just like Jesus.

We love you, church!

Tomorrow is Baptism Sunday – these mornings are always so special. We get to hear stories and celebrate with individuals in our church who have chosen a relationship with Jesus and have experienced Christ reshaping their lives from the inside out. Hearing people's testimonies reminds us who our God is. It strengthens us, encourages us, and unites us as the body of Christ to worship Jesus for who he is and what he's done for us. There's nothing sweeter than getting to be in the presence of the Lord. Let's do it together this Sunday at our 9 and 11 AM services. 🙌☀️

If you cannot be with us on-site, you can join us online on Facebook, YouTube, and Worshipcenter.org/live.

How refreshing it was to spend time in the presence of the Lord together yesterday. 🙌🔥

Thank you, Pastor Don, for a message that really challenged us in how we view others, what it looks like to have a persistent prayer life, and how to truly live out the Golden Rule: "Do to others what you would like them to do to you" (Matthew 7:12). This was week 8 of our series through the Sermon on the Mount.

➡️ As you continue to reflect on this week's message, we encourage you to:

🏔️Take some time to ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal where you might be judgmental towards others.
🏔️Consider how the words of Jesus may be stirring you to be bolder and more persistent in your prayers.
🏔️Ask God how he's calling you to live out the Golden Rule this week.

What Did Jesus Teach About Judging Others, Persistent Prayer and the Golden Rule?

In part eight of our series, Pastor Don shares what scripture teaches about how followers of Jesus should view others, what it looks like to have a persistent prayer life, and how to truly live out the Golden Rule: "Do to others what you would like them to do to you" (Matthew 7:12). As you listen to this message, we encourage you to:

1. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal where you might be judgmental towards others.
2. Consider how the words of Jesus may be stirring you to be bolder and more persistent in your prayers.
3. Ask God how he's calling you to live out the Golden Rule in your life right now.

"Truly trusting God as our provider comes from a heart that is rooted in seeking the Kingdom above all else and living righteously." 👏👏👏

Thank you, Pastor Dustin, for sharing with us yesterday about what Jesus taught on money, possessions, and worry! ➡️ The world is dominated by thoughts of worry and tempted by the consumption of the riches of this world. But, as followers of Jesus, scripture teaches us that God is our provider and that we cannot serve two masters – we either are serving God or money.

God desires for us to live a life fully devoted to him – loving him and seeking the reward of living in obedience to him – just like Jesus did. Then, we will experience deeply rooted peace and freedom from worry over the many things of this world that dominate the thoughts of those who are not followers of Jesus.⚡️⚡️⚡️

What Did Jesus Teach About Money, Possessions, and Worry?

In part seven of our series, Pastor Dustin shares that trusting God as our provider comes from a heart that is rooted in seeking the Kingdom of God above all else and living righteously.

There's plenty to worry about in this world, but Jesus is our Prince of Peace, and God is our provider who cares.

Who do I trust as my provider?
What themes dominate my thought life?
Where do I spend my energy and put my focus?
When am I spending time with Jesus?

Scripture: Matthew 6:19-24, Matthew 4:8-10, Matthew 6:25-34, Romans 8:31-32, 1 Peter 5:7

When we do good deeds and when we pray, Jesus warns us to examine the motives of our own hearts. It's very easy to do good things and to even pray, for the wrong reasons. When we do good, may we desire God to get the glory, not ourselves. When we pray, may we fully rely on our unchanging, good God – not looking for a desired outcome from him. 🙏🙌

Thank you, Pastor Heather, for continuing our journey through The Sermon on the Mount yesterday with an encouraging and challenging message around Matthew 6:1-18 NLT.

Church, this week, we encourage you to ask God how he may be prompting you from this message. What is he asking you to do? How is he prompting you to grow into more of the image of Christ?☀️

07/07/2024

What Did Jesus Teach About Good Deeds and Prayer?

Are there areas where you’re doing good things, things you should be doing, but you’re doing them for the wrong reasons? Are there areas where you are seeking praise that is reserved only for God? Are there areas of your life where you are not submitted to the kingship of Jesus? Where you’ve built your own kingdom and you’re the king?

As we continue into week six of our series study of Jesus' teachings from The Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Heather picks up in Matthew 6: 1-18 and reminds us that we don’t pray simply looking for a desired outcome. Instead, we pray fully reliant on a good God.

Scripture: Matthew 6: 1-18.

We don't pray simply looking for a desired outcome. Instead, we pray fully reliant on a good God.

Happy Fourth of July from Worship Center! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

As a church, we thank Jesus that we have the ability to freely worship him in our Country. May we use this freedom to spread the good news of Jesus everywhere we go!

Thank you Jesus for the freedom in our country to boldly proclaim your name – may we not take it for granted. Today, may we fix our eyes on you, the one who gives us ultimate freedom.

"God has given us the task of reconciling people to Christ."

Yesterday, Pastor Dustin continued our series about The Sermon On The Mount. It was an encouraging and challenging message as we looked at what Jesus taught about revenge and loving our enemies. Loving our enemies is anything but easy; it requires complete surrender to Christ and dependence on the Holy Spirit within us. But if we, as a Church, can truly love our enemies with Christ's love, we will impact the world around us by helping people be reconciled to Christ – showing others the same love that Christ first showed us. If we are truly followers of Jesus, we will want our enemies in the Kingdom of God.

There is healing available through Jesus from those who have hurt or wronged us. There is power available through the Holy Spirit to extend mercy and grace to our enemies and truly love them. Is God prompting you to forgive and extend his love to someone who has wronged you?

06/30/2024

What Did Jesus Teach About Revenge and Loving Our Enemies?

In week 5 of our series, Sermon on the Mount, we heard from Pastor Dustin about loving our enemies. Ultimately, we must love our enemies because God has given us the task of reconciling people to Christ. When we are wronged, Jesus tells us not to retaliate because then we are able to reveal the heart of God to people around us. Our mindset can easily drift toward making it all about ourselves, but in reality God offers salvation for all people - our enemies included. If we are truly followers of Jesus, we will truly want our enemies in the Kingdom of God.

Here are the Bible passages we studied this week: Matthew 5: 7-10, Matthew 5: 38-42, Matthew 5: 43-45, 2 Corinthians 5: 14-15 and 16-20, Acts 7: 52-60.

We'll see you tomorrow, on-site and online, to seek the Lord's presence together and be challenged and encouraged to become more like Christ as we follow him. Will you be there?☀️

What a great week of VBS last week! ☀️🏖️😎

Nearly 500 students filled the church all week long for times of worship, fun activities, and times of learning about Jesus.

We count it a great blessing and joy to share the good news of Jesus with the next generations, helping them grow in their understanding of who he is and how to follow him from a young age. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers that made VBS a reality!

What was your kids' favorite part of VBS? Share with us below! 💬 😃

This morning, Pastor Don continued our series on the Sermon on the Mount.

Jesus raised the bar on how we should live as believers. The only way to live up to that standard is to align ourselves with God’s heart and his design for our lives. God is also just and full of compassion. When we fall short, we can repent and turn back to Him.

What Did Jesus Teach About Lust, Divorce, and Adultery?

In part four of our series, The Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Don shared what Jesus taught about lust, divorce, and adultery. As followers of Jesus, when it comes to these topics, it's often best to guard your heart, guard what you feed on, and guard who you hang out with.

Scriptures we read this week:

Matthew 5:27-30; 1 Corinthians 6:18;1 Corinthians 10:12-13; Hebrews 4:14-16 NKJV Matthew 5:31-32; Matthew 19:2-9; Deuteronomy 24:1-2; Matthew 5:33-37 NKJV
