These grants are made possible thanks to people who chose to leave legacy gifts that support Lancaster County every year. They represent a collective commitment to building a more inclusive, informed, and sustainable community, where individuals of all backgrounds can thrive and contribute to positive change.

Do you know what makes the I Love Lancaster Fund so unique? 🤔
Because it is endowed, it grows over time to support emerging needs, while keeping the vibrance of our shared future as its priority. The I Love Lancaster Fund is our most flexible and responsive fund, making it possible to invest in projects like the Enola Low Grade Rail Trail.
In 1994, the I Love Lancaster Found supported the first Enola Rail Trail Study, helping to turn a non-accessible area in Southern Lancaster County into what is now a 29-mile long recreation trail along the Susquehanna, spanning from Conestoga to Atglen, that hundreds of community members enjoy. 🌿
When you give to the I Love Lancaster Fund, you join 100 years’ worth of visionary funders who worked to create a way to support emerging needs throughout the county. You give it. We grow it. For Lancaster. Forever.

Do you know what makes the I Love Lancaster Fund so unique? Because it is endowed, it grows over time to support emerging needs, while keeping the vibrance of our shared future as its priority.
In fact, it’s our most flexible and responsive fund, making it possible to invest in critical opportunities like HDC MidAtlantic’s College Avenue affordable housing project at the former Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Lancaster.
With a grant from the I Love Lancaster fund, HDC MidAtlantic is redeveloping the former hospital into a mixed-use site that will provide affordable housing to local residents. This renovation will not only meet the critical need for affordable housing in our community, but it also aligns with the priorities defined in Lancaster County Planning's Lancaster County Places 2040 plan, the Lancaster City Alliance's Building on Strength Economic Development Strategic Plan, and the City of Lancaster, PA's Interim Housing Strategy.
When you give to the I Love Lancaster Fund, you join 100 years’ worth of visionary funders who worked to create a way to support emerging needs throughout the county. You give it. We grow it. For Lancaster. Forever.

During her life, Elizabeth Walton Hiryok was known for her upbeat, positive way of reaching out to people to help them through tough times. Her selflessness was an example of the impact each of us can make when we put others first. Beth actively participated in managing how her family’s donor advised fund contributed to the community for years until her passing, after which it was renamed Beth’s Legacy to honor her memory.
Beth’s Legacy is partnering with Solanco Neighborhood Ministries, an organization that provides a support network, promotes personal and spiritual growth, increases self-sufficiency, and aims to break the cycle of poverty within the Solanco community. One of the primary ways they serve the community is through their food bank, which during the 2023-2024 school year, sent over 60,000 meals home with students in the district. Solanco Neighborhood Ministries has experienced a 40% increase in the number of food orders they provide over the past year, with the number of students in their weekend meal program reaching a program high of 290.
For all of May 2024, Beth’s Legacy is providing a $25,000 matching gift to Solanco Neighborhood Ministries to encourage others to contribute to Lancastrians in need.
Give now to Solanco Neighborhood Ministries and join Beth’s Legacy in supporting well-being & vibrancy in Lancaster County or explore how to establish a fund of your own by going to ➡ Our Funds using the link in bio.

The Holran Family knows that having a sense of well-being and vibrancy can come from many sources. Books, libraries, education, outreach in their faith, and taking care of their neighbors were an integral part of their family’s well-being. Now they're a fundamental piece of their giving.
After the passing of her husband Bruce in 2021, Barbara decided the estate gift that she and Bruce established 30 years ago should be distributed while she is living. With the support of her family, the Forever Lancaster team helped Barbara disburse her gift to 14 community benefit organizations. This included endowments held at the Community Foundation that support Lancaster Conservancy, Lancaster Public Library, and Samaritan Center, Lancaster. They also established the John and Anna Erb Fund for Lancaster County Parks.
Their extraordinary gift will help new generations find peace and wellness wherever they seek it, whether it’s on a hike or in a good book. Find out more about how you can change the next 100 years through giving at changethenext100.org.
