We have officially had our 5000th Video Equipment checkout this week with our member Reggie. We wish him luck with his upcoming video production and that he returns the equipment on time so that all the members of the Lansing Public Media Center can continue to produce amazing local content. Cindy Hunter Morgan () and Pete Johnston () would like to invite you to FILMETRY, a Festival of Poetry and Film, this Friday at 7pm at the Lansing Public Media Center.
This fusion of film and poetry is in its 4th year, and a return to an in-person screening which we’re very excited about. Featuring work from MSU students as well as filmmakers from around the world. Admission is free and open to all.

Welp. Here we are. We had the highest hopes of having a “normal” festival this year in 2021, but we’re channeling that energy into a kick-ass outdoor drive-in event happening October 21-24, 2021 in Downtown Lansing! Join us for some fun fall nights. Our selection committee has worked hard to curate a great slate of films, details to come reallllly soon.
Don’t worry, we’re keeping our hopes ultra high for 2022, and are planning to have a full-on “normal” festival in the spring. Stay tuned, and thanks for your ongoing support!

"Summer of Soul is a “ historical record created around the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, an epic event that celebrated Black history, culture and fashion. Including never-before-seen
concert performances by Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, B.B. King and more, the film uses the festival’s musical performances to tell the story of the cultural and sociopolitical upheaval
happening at that time.”
