University College oversees the Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies (MDS)!
The MDS degree is designed for students who have diverse academic and career interests as students can select three areas of concentration.

ACE- Academic Support is located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library (KLM), 1st floor.
During the fall semester, ACE Academic Support will be open 7- days a week. For more information about our services visit our website: go.tamiu.edu/ACE
ACE- Academic Support also provides student-led Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions. In these sessions, SI Leaders provide students with activities to maximize their learning. Students who attend these sessions, typically earn a higher grade in their course!
SI is offered in select courses, visit the Supplemental Instruction tab on our website to check the schedule for the upcoming semester.
ACE- Academic Support offers FREE tutoring to all undergraduate and graduate students!
ACE tutors are available to help students with various subjects, including writing, math, biology, chemistry, to name a few! Tutoring sessions are available online or in-person.
Schedule your tutoring appointments through the ACE website, walk-ins are also welcome. Visit go.tamiu.edu/ace and click “Tutoring” to learn more!
ACE advisors are located in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center (ZSC), 101. Visit the link in our bio and click “ACE Academic Advising” for advisor info and booking details.

ACE-Advising & Retention provides academic advising for freshmen, student athletes, first-time TAMIU students, and those pursuing a Multidisciplinary studies degree.
Academic advisors support students and ensure that they take the correct courses for their major, provide relevant academic resources, and help students transition to the college/school of their choice.

The University Honors and Undergraduate Research Program (UHURP) seeks to provide students with the highest levels of academic achievement and the opportunity to challenge themselves to their fullest potential.
Students in the honors program work closely with a university faculty mentor in their chosen academic major on research projects, conference presentations, leadership development, and community engagement.
FYE - UNIV 1302 aims to help students explore community issues and think critically about how to solve them.
This course fosters community engagement by integrating University and other relevant resources. The UNIV 1302 course features the FYE Symposium, in which students will present their research and community engagement project to TAMIU faculty, staff, and local non-profit leaders. FYE - UNIV 1201 aims for students to make connections on campus and engage in new experiences! Through this course, students are empowered to make informed decisions and take charge of their own learning.
UNIV 1201 features our Common Read Program, also known as . RTG engages students with an internationally set memoir to expand cultural awareness. The book changes every year and students have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete for a paid educational adventure to the location of that year’s book. The First-Year Experience (FYE) is a full-year curriculum for incoming students consisting of UNIV 1201 & UNIV 1302. This full-year program encourages students to connect with peers, mentors, advisors, and professors and with other campus resources for support.
Students meet with peer mentors who will help enhance their academic and personal skills while guiding them through their transition to TAMIU. FYE activities help students connect with the campus, grow as learners and empower them in their educational career! Visit our FYE webpage to learn more!

ACE tutoring services resume Thursday, June 20, at 8 a.m.
Our first TSI Summer Bridge session kicked off this week! This program covers MATH/ELAR TSI content, study skills, free TSI testing voucher, and a students can get some TAMIU swag.
