Made up of 3 sections - Parks, Recreation, and Youth Services - we are the Fun Experts providing diverse programs and special events for our community.
Registration is now open! All ages/skills are welcomed, and beginners are encouraged. This is the perfect opportunity for moms and dads to participate in friendly and fun competition with their child!
This is a 2-game round robin and double elimination tournament.
Top winners in each division will receive a non-cash prize and trophy.

Got trash? Well, KLCB has your back and we're hosting this month's Neighborhood Dumpster Day on Saturday, July 20, 8 am -Noon, at the following locations:
- Young Park 850 S. Walnut St.
- Tony Gomez Park 2283 S Espina St.
- Henry R Benavidez Community Center 1045 McClure Rd.
Items not allowed in roll-off containers:
- No Medical Waste (per NM Regulations)
- Hot ashes/coals
- Tires or any vehicle parts (including car batteries)
- Fluorescent light bulbs Large yard waste items (stumps or trunks)

Did you know that Parks & Recreation hosts After School Programs (ASP) at local schools, and we recently opened our program at Loma Heights Elementary and Jornada Elementary School!
Check out the fall *lottery registration that is now open until Friday, July 12 online and in person. For locations and more info visit lascruces.gov or the After School Program link in our bio.
Our programs are for kids in kindergarten - 5th Grade for the 2024-25 school year and will follow the Las Cruces Public School Calendar, runs Monday- Friday, 2:30-6pm. Program sites will include Alameda, Cesar Chavez, Sunrise, Fairacres, Monte Vista, Sonoma, Jornada, and Loma Heights Elementary schools.
*Registration for the ASP Summer Recreation Program is determined by lottery selection only due to limited spots. Participants selected for a site will be notified July 16 by email or text message.
The A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven-W**d & Seed program will have open in-person registration until July 19, at the A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven. For more info for the W**d and Seed program, call 575-528-4257.

It's time for the Youth Cheer Fall Program registration to open!
-In-person registration starts Thursday, July 18, noon -8 p.m., or until full.
-All genders, for ages 5-10.
-Parks & Rec ID is required to register. For ID & registration, visit Meerscheidt Rec Center.
-$50 per Individual. Includes jersey.
-Practice will regularly include jumps, stunts, and cheer routine.
- Performances take place during Youth Flag Football games and at the end of the program.
- Participants will have opportunities to build confidence, self-esteem, and socialize with other peppy kids.

This Sunday come down to Young Park for the Million Dollar McGraw Show starring Vegas McGraw!
Vegas McGraw’s electrifying tribute to country music legend Tim McGraw has captivated fans for more than a decade with performances in 46 states, Australia, Mexico and Canada. Along with honoring Tim McGraw, Vegas McGraw brings to life the Million Dollar Quartet with a Vegas twist to the songs of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.
As an award-winning tribute act, Vegas McGraw recently won Episode 3 of the TV show "Clash of the Cover Bands." Adam D. Tucker, known as Vegas McGraw throughout his career, has been the opening act for huge stars such as Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Reba McEntire and many more.
The free show will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Young Park, 1905 E. Nevada Ave.

Gates open at 4 p.m. There will be a bag check. Food vendors will be on site. No grilling, personal fireworks, RVs, or overnight parking will be allowed. Alcohol will be available for purchase and consumption at specific designated areas. No outside alcohol allowed. Food and drinks are allowed (but no glass containers). Bring chairs, blankets, personal umbrellas, sunscreen, and a hat. For information, call the Parks & Recreation Department at 575/541-2550.
4th of July = Free swim day!!
Today’s a free swim day at the City’s outdoor pools: East Mesa Bataan Memorial Pool, 6141 Reynolds Rd., and Laabs Pool, 750 W. Picacho Ave.
Free swim day sessions will be from noon – 3:00 p.m., and 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Children eight and under must have an adult in the pool at all times, within arm’s reach and only two children eight and under per adult. No food, alcohol or glass allowed. Free swim sessions are subject to capacity regulations and cancellations may occur due to inclement weather.
Proper swim attire is required. No group reservations may be scheduled during free swim days.🏊♀️🙂🏊♂️🙂

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Lil Sluggers Baseball league completed its summer season with resounding support from the community and spirited effort from its participants. Kudos to players, coaches, and fans for a fun, instructive, and encouraging season.

The Electric 5k / 1 Mile Fun Run starts at 7:30 p.m. in front of Meerscheidt Recreation Center.
The Electric Light Parade begins at 9:00 p.m. The parade starts at Apodaca Park,heading south on Solano Ave., and finishes on Hadley Ave. at the Maag Softball Complex.

Neighborhood Dumpster Day!
The Parks and Recreation Department’s Keep Las Cruces Beautiful Program (KLCB), is hosting a Neighborhood Dumpster Day. KLCB is providing open-top trash containers for the community to dump yard waste, household trash, and other permittable items for FREE on Saturday, December 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Program staff will be available to provide support, program information, and guide users regarding the items being requested to toss into the containers.
Household trash open-top container locations:
• Henry R. Benavidez Center, 1045 McClure Road.
• Paz Park baseball field parking Lot, 1631 E. Hadley Ave.
Items NOT allowed in a Solid Waste Container are:
No Medical Waste (per section 20.9.8.8 NMAC of the New Mexico Environmental Protection regulations)
Hot ashes/coals
Tires or any vehicle parts (including car batteries)
