Some CCD skaters are on their way to Las Vegas, NV for RollerCon. Decided to stop for a Hoover Dam photo op (missed the exit) and instead got a photo in front of Lake Mead. It was a very hot 30 seconds 🥵

Out here till 4:00p at the Paws for a Cause event at Las Cruces Beauty, llc! So many cute puppies and kitties to pet (or adopt) 😉 Also some adorable vendors (besides us) selling merch and products.

We’re planning a new skater training for peeps who wanna learn to skate and learn to play derby. Please fill out this interest form so we can gauge what kind of program we should run. We hope to hear from you! 🛼💛❤️🖤🛼

Chile Verde Training CCD is interested in holding a chile verde (people who are new to skating/derby) bootcamp (1 or 2 days) and starting up a regular once-a-week practice geared towards beginners. This survey is to gauge interest and figure out what day would be best!

We are very excited to see our friend, Feral!, coach our other friends, All-Star Juárez, this weekend at their tournament. We hope everyone has fun! 🤩

***Warning: Humble brag ahead.***
These three skaters are coaches for CCD. They traveled to Taos last weekend to play at Rumble on the Rio with their second league and our SibLeague, Elevated Roller Derby. They represented CCD in the best way they could! They played three games and earned 4 awards between them. Axel received MVP Blocker vs FoCo. Rockit received MVP Overall vs Boulder Bolters. Then Axel received MVP Overall and Nikki received MVP Blocker vs Los Alamos Derby Dames (aka our other SibLeague). They travel 220 miles to Albuquerque to train with Elevated at least once a month and spend the rest of their practice time coaching and training with all our newest league members here in Las Cruces. And seeing all of these new skaters grow and improve under their coaching gives us hope for the future of CCD. So please help us thank Elevated for welcoming Axel, Rockit and Nikki with open arms and allowing them to not only grow their travel team experience but also supporting our league by sending some of their own skaters down here this Saturday for our Black vs White Scrimmage Mash Up. (We would also like to congratulate Elevated on jumping 15 ranking slots to #30 in WFTDA’s North America-West division as a result of their wins in Taos! Hard work pays off 💪🏽)
So please come see all these athletes compete this weekend! Donations we collect from entry will help us build our league back up to its former glory, complete with our own travel team. And who knows? Maybe you’ll wanna be a part of our team too and be coached by these three💛❤️🖤

Youth Roller Skating!

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department and Crossroads City Derby will be offering a free YOUTH roller skating clinic on Saturday, November 4th.

Participants will have a great time learning fundamentals and skate safety with members of Crossroads City Derby! No experience necessary.

Participants are required to provide their own gear: skate helmet, elbow pads, wrist guards, knee pads & quad roller skates.
(Loaner gear will not be available.)

If you have kids ages 5-17 years old in your life and want to give them an opportunity to do something new and exciting, then look no further! CCD is helping lead a clinic to teach children and teenagers to roller skate 🛼 See attached flyer for info. Comment below or message us with any questions you have.
Participants need to provide their own gear. Gear needed: Quad skates, skate helmet (not bike), knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards.
Non-sponsored info: kids skates and all-ages gear kits can be purchased at Big 5, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Walmart or Academy (El Paso). Teen skates can be purchased at Zumiez, Academy (El Paso) and Crooks Skates (El Paso). Skate helmets can be purchased at Target.
