But, it could get worse, as a state of emergency declared by the governor earlier this year is coming to an end.

That state emergency allowed schools to hire people with a high school degree using an emergency substitute teacher license.

This is raising even more concerns, as filling teacher sick days and vacancies can be a struggle.
