As Disability Employment Awareness Month comes to a close, it's important to celebrate our progress while still acknowledging the hard truth...
It is STILL legal in 34 states to pay adults with disabilities less than minimum wage. For some, this comes out to as low as $3.50/hour.
This law was passed all the way back in 1938, and clearly, it's outdated. Many states have made the decision to move past these outdated practices, but most haven't 😢
Dig it! was founded to provide equal opportunities to the disability community and to serve as a trailblazer towards a more inclusive future. Although paying fair wages shouldn't be so uncommon, it unfortunately is.
We're here to pave the way towards equality and hope to encourage other businesses to do the same. 💛🤟🏼

How do we accomplish this?
By creating a safe and welcoming environment for ALL.
We are always looking for new features to bring to the shop that can bring comfort to people of all abilities. Some of our most recent wins for inclusion include introducing our Braille menus as well as our on-demand ASL interpreter service at the shop, ASL Anywhere!
Every day we learn more and more about what accommodations we can introduce to make the shop more inclusive, and we're currently working on more! 💛
