Leeds-born producer George Evelyn, known as N.O.W (Nightmares on Wax), has been a pivotal figure in British electronic music, pioneering new sonic landscapes with his blend of soul, dub, funk, and hip-hop. His musical journey, beginning with early singles in the late ‘80s and solidified by influential albums like “Smokers Delight” and “Carboot Soul,” has evolved into a unique, downtempo style that defined the chill genre. Evelyn’s latest album, “Shout Out! To Freedom,” emerged from a period of personal trauma, the Covid pandemic, and the Black Lives Matter movement, reflecting on freedom and resilience. Collaborating with diverse artists, Evelyn crafted a cinematic and soulful soundtrack that continues his legacy of creating music that resonates deeply with emotional and cultural significance.

About band
“Sexual Purity” - is a DIY Ukrainian band consisting of two members, Anastasiia and Oleksii. Their music primarily features sensual and dark tones, immersing the listener into the unknown yet captivating world of the band. There’s also a touch of madness in their songs, evident in the lyrics, but it all comes together harmoniously, inviting one to fully immerse themselves in a wild dance to their tunes on the dance floor. The musicians’ concept revolves around avoiding a specific genre and creating works based on emotions and their inner world.

Artist Bio:
Yellowman, born Winston Foster in Negril, Jamaica, in 1959, rose to prominence as Jamaica’s first dancehall superstar, transforming the reggae scene after Bob Marley’s death. Known for his explicit “slack” lyrics, Yellowman became a controversial figure, yet his verbal dexterity and humor won him widespread popularity. His early success in the 1980s, marked by hits like “Zungguzungguguzungguzeng” and collaborations with producer Henry “Junjo” Lawes, established dancehall as the future of reggae. Despite battling cancer in the 1990s, Yellowman reinvented his style, focusing on socially conscious themes. After a long hiatus, he made a comeback in 2019 with the album *No More War*, under his daughter K’reema’s label.

For over 50 years, Black Uhuru has been a prominent reggae band from Jamaica, achieving numerous milestones including winning the first-ever Grammy Award for reggae. Formed in Kingston’s Waterhouse District in the late 1960s by Derrick “Duckie” Simpson, the band has seen various line-ups, with key collaborations that shaped their distinctive sound. They gained international fame in the 1980s, especially with albums like “Red” and “Anthem,” and continued to release music and tour globally. Despite internal disputes and lineup changes, Black Uhuru remains a significant force in reggae, with recent albums like “As The World Turns” and “New Day” continuing their legacy into the present.

About:
Os Mutantes is an influential Brazilian psychedelic rock band linked with the Tropicália movement of the late 1960s, blending influences from international psychedelic acts and Brazilian musical styles. Renowned in Brazil, they have significantly influenced many contemporary underground and independent bands in the US and Europe. Artists like Beck, The Bees, Flea, Kevin Barnes, David Byrne, and Kurt Cobain have acknowledged their impact. After a hiatus, they reunited for performances starting in 2006, despite changes in their lineup. Led by Sérgio Dias, the band released new music, toured extensively, and collaborated with artists like Of Montreal. In 2017, English singer-songwriter Carly Bryant joined the band, contributing to their evolving sound and ongoing projects.

Sending our condolences to the friends and family of longtime vocalist/samplist Pi**he Peach, who passed away this morning due to heart complications. We will be sure to share an update on the status of our upcoming show with the band on Sep 26 as soon as we know more 🖤
