After McKenna Silva graduates from Touro University Nevada, she aims to work in sports medicine or orthopedic surgery as a physician assistant. She offers advice for students who are considering enrolling in Touroโs medical programs. ๐ซ๐ฅผ
โMy biggest piece of advice is to allow yourself the opportunity to use the resources Touro has. Donโt be afraid to check out the library, the SIM lab, or the learning center to see if something might be right for you! I am a firm believer that you will get out of school what you put in!โ - McKenna Silva ๐
Sonia Frick (OMSGA President) and Matthew Nguyen (OMSGA VP of Student Affairs) had the honor of representing TUNCOM and the state of Nevada as student delegates at this year's annual American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates (AOA HOD) in Chicago.
The House of Delegates consists of state delegates composed of osteopathic physicians and osteopathic medical students.
Not only did our students have an eye-opening experience, enabling them to understand the foundations of AOA policymaking and the legislative process, but they also contributed towards the passing of new AOA resolutions that will impact the entire osteopathic medical profession across the nation.
At Touro University Nevada, we uphold Hippocrates' timeless words: โWherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity.โ ๐๐

The combination of top-notch facilities, dedicated faculty, and diverse clinical opportunities ensures that students are not only well-prepared academically but also equipped with practical skills to excel in their careers. This holistic approach to education truly distinguishes Touro as an exceptional institution for aspiring healthcare professional.โ - James Tang ๐

I have a great leadership team to help me make this a success - Dr. McDonough, Dr. Ward, Dr. Fisher, Shelly Howlett, and Sam Rutter. We aim to provide brochures, educational components, and fitness tests in the near future!โ - Regina Chow ๐ฅผ ๐ฉบ

Dr. Terry Bartmus, Assistant Professor and Nevada's AANP liaison, imparts a piece of wisdom from her distinguished medical journey.
โFind your mentor. I have had mentors throughout my entire career that I know I can call if I am having issues, whether emotional or professional. Develop a healthy work/life balance early! Find your happy activity that can help take your mind off work. Try to spend below your means once you start making money, so you do not have to work too much! Exercise, take mental health walks outdoors, and learn to meditate! There is evidence that all of these help with daily stress.โ

Military and HPSP students come together to collaborate during this course, sharing knowledge and building team skills necessary in medicine. Our students underwent intensive simulated training evolutions with experienced clinicians, EMS, and law enforcement in the field of military medicine, trauma, emergency medicine and surgery. Our military medical students gained invaluable skills in leadership, teamwork, and military medicine within an orchestrated chaotic environment.
