Huge congratulations are in order to our very own Edison Tai in his first year of Y14 with an 8th place medal and a new B24 in Y14 Mens Epee! Edison fought well all day and pulled out an amazing win in his top 16 bout against the #1 seed out of pools 15-14 and then eventually lost to the Gold medalist in top 8. He showed great resilience and his hard work is paying off! Congratulations again to Edison, his family, and his coaches!!

We congratulate our Vet fencers Coach Walt Dragonetti and Sean Ameli for making the Vet 60 world team! They worked hard and clinched their spots with their silver and bronze medals! Way to go and good luck to them at the Veteran World Championships in Dubai!

We have our first medal of this Summer Nationals in Junior Women's epee with Agatha "Zhouying" Qu and a Bronze medal! She fenced very well and earned her A24! She fought hard and is resting up for cadet tomorrow!

Honorable mention to Sumin Lee who lost a close bout to place 9th today and 21st in Div I Women's epee yesterday!

Jayna Kim also earned national points in Junior Women's Epee today after fighting hard!

Good job to everyone and we look forward to the rest of the tournament! Good luck!

We had the honor of having the Princeton Head Coach, Zoltan Dudas, come to BBFC to run a camp here in Vegas and everyone enjoyed learning from his wealth of knowledge and experience. Everyone had a great time with his drills and bouting and we hope to see him again! Thank you, Coach Dudas!

Last day of the Collegiate RJCC and we have another medal and some great fencing! Congratulations are in order to Elan Tan with his 6th place medal and C24 in Junior Men's Epee! He fenced incredibly well and lost to the eventual silver medalist. The girls also fenced very well after struggling in pools, they both won their first DE against higher seeded opponents. Way to go! Congratulations again to Elan, his family, and his coaches and to Coach Sorah who is there coaching our fencers! Let's keep it going!

1st day of the Collegiate RJCC and we have some great efforts and 2 medals! In Cadet Men's epee, Battle Born had a strong showing with all 5 fencers finishing in the top 16 and 2 medals! Teddy Kim comes away with Silver and a new B24 after cramping in the final and Jake Lee takes home the 8th place medal! There were a lot of lessons learned and some great fencing with Elan unfortunately running into Teddy in the 16s. We are so proud of all our fencers, their families, and their coaches, especially Coach Sorah who is here this weekend supporting our fencers! Let's fight hard tomorrow!

At the Golden State RYC we had 2 more medals with some of our youngest fencers! In Y8 Men's Epee, Sean Wang takes home the Bronze medal for the 1st time! In Y10 Men's epee, his older brother Ryan Wang also earns his first Bronze medal at a RYC! So great to see their hard work start to pay off! Great job! Congratulations to Sean, Ryan, their family, and their coaches!

1st day of the 4th Annual Las Vegas BBFC Epee only RYC and RJC and we come away with 9 medals!!! In Junior Men's Epee, San Choi takes home the bronze earning his B24, JD Gallo places 5th, and Teddy Kim finishes 6th earning his C24! In Y14 Women's Epee, Adelynn Lee takes home 5th place! In Y12 Men's epee, Sebastian Mulcahy is our Gold medalist with Steven Dai in 5th, Evan Kim in 6th, and Duke Greenman 7th with his first medal ever! And last but not least, Mina Dai finishes with the Bronze in Y10 Women's epee! We are so proud of all our students and our coaches with their comraderie and behind the scenes bloopers. Back to work and the last day of our RYC!

In Cadet Men's Epee, Olaf Mulcahy finishes in 5th place after losing by 1 touch to the eventual Gold medalist! Way to go! In Y12 Women's Epee, Adelynn Lee comes away with a top 32 finish and more national points!!! It was a good weekend overall with new ratings, medals, and good lessons! Back to the club! 2nd day, another medal, more national points and ratings! Great strides and fencing from Ian Kim in Junior Men's Epee with his 8th place medal and A24! He fought hard and gave his all taking out the #1 seed to make top 8 before losing to the eventual silver medalist. Congrats are also in order for Y14 fencer Jayden Kim as he earns his B24! In Y12 Men's Epee, we had close bouts and lessons learned but more national points earned with Steven Dai - top 16, Duke Greenman, Evan Kim, and Sebastian Mulcahy - top 32. In Y14 Women's Epee, Yeriel Lee finishes 11th, earning national points and her E24! Congratulations to all our fencers, their families, and their coaches, especially Coach Lee, Coach Sorah, and Coach Marian in Ontario at the Fortune SYC! On to the next day and back to the club!

1st day of the Fortune SYC and RJCC came away with 1 medal, lots of points, and some close top 16 bouts to fall short of some medals. In Y14 Men's Epee, Jayden Kim takes home the bronze, after losing a close 1 touch bout to the eventual Gold medalist, 14-15. He also renews his C to a C24! Congratulations also to Edison Tai top 16, Eric Goroza, Teddy Kim, Duke Greenman, and Sebastian Mulcahy for top 32 and more Y14 National Points!! In Junior Women's Epee, Gabrielle Lendis and Jayna Kim lost in the top 16 to get top 8. Lots of things to learn and hard fought bouts. In Y10 Women's epee, Mina Dai loses a close one in top 16 to make top 8 as well. Honorable mention to all competing today with small victories and lots of effort to Nylah Yumiaco, Chaehee Chang, Evan Kim, Xavier Miller, Steven Dai, and Davidson Lee. On to the rest of the weekend! Congratulations again to Jayden, his family, and his coaches! Let's keep it up!

In Junior Women's Epee, Jayna Kim comes away with the 5th place medal after losing a close one to the eventual silver medalist. In Y14 Women's Epee, Yeriel Lee comes home with the 7th place medal after losing to the eventual Gold Medalist! Congratulations to Jayna and Yeriel, their families, and their coaches! Honorable mentions to our young fencers in their first or second tournament and to Eleanor Saplan for winning her first DE in a tournament ever in Y12 Women's Epee!

Congratulations are in order for the 1st day of the South Coast RYC/RJCC with Nylah Yumiaco taking home the 8th place medal in Cadet Women’s Epee! She started off rough but pulled out some great pool wins and won her first DE easily. In her 2nd DE, she fenced against the #1 seed and was neck and neck the entire way until she ran out of time and lost by 2 touches! Way to fight and never give up! Great job to Nylah, her family, and her coaches, especially Coach Marian and Coach Sorah who were on site providing guidance and support! We look forward to the future! Go BBFC Go!
