🔊 Exciting News for Our FI Car Audio Family! 🔊

Starting August 1, 2024, FI Car Audio will be joining forces with a new team of leaders! Operations and business management will be changing and the structure behind FI’s amazing product will be improving. This marks an exciting new chapter, and we want to assure you that the quality and exclusivity you love won’t change.

To get ready for this transition, we’ll be shutting down our website tonight for some summer cleaning at the shop and to prep for the upcoming events. Don’t worry, this is just temporary! We’ll be back better than ever with a refreshed business model and improved customer experience, including some cool new website enhancements.

To keep FI Car Audio special, we’re sticking to a few select dealers in the future. A large dealer network would take away from our unique vibe, so we’re signing up just one distributor for the foreseeable future: Sky High Car Audio. Going forward, FI and Sky High will be the only online sources for our premium products.

We’re also pumped to have new ownership which includes some heavy hitters from the audio community on board. Real bassheads like Jon from Sky High Car Audio and its family of brands, Chris and Matt from Limitless, and Johnny from Sky High, SoundQubed, and Trinity are joining us to help with daily operations from their a far. Additionally and maybe more importantly, Andy Berning will be stepping into the role of General Manager, bringing a wealth of experience and passion for car audio that aligns perfectly with our vision. This powerhouse team is ready to take FI to new heights, ensuring the same top-notch quality and innovation you expect from us.

And here’s more great news: Scott, the founder of FI Car Audio, is staying on as our lead designer! Scott will continue to work in-house but this change will allow him to follow his passion projects, spend time with his family, and let his creativity run even wilder than before. We’re excited to see what new innovations he’ll bring to life!

Well… for some reason people want this. Who are we to deprive you of the opportunity to waste your money on a great sub wrapped up in a silly package. While this wasn’t the plan, it’s hard not to listen with the email and social media barrage of “please sell me one”.
The Fi FU series will be a limited run. How limited? Probably when we feel like the joke has gone on long enough. Now please be advised that this sub will take us a bunch of extra time and if we get slammed by orders to make them that all “regular” orders will come first so we can try to keep our 2-5 day lead times. We foresee these being at least 5-7 business days for the first orders and possibly extending out to 30 days for the last of them before we do not want to do more and go beyond that.
We will be picking up 5x10 sheets of steel as well as the thin stainless backer plate on Tuesday and start running the heck out of these on the waterjet and CNC. We will keep you posted on time lines and ship them as soon as possible.

So…. There’s that.

Being told time and time again that we don’t actually make anything or machine anything or design anything I decided to minimize Nastran, Maxwell, and Autocad and go to everyone’s favorite engineering source and “design” a new sub. After “engineering” our new series with some specific key words, testing the results, and then re-engineering it with some other key words I finally got the results we were looking for. Introducing the FU series. It comes in both left and right hand models (or as pairs or a full wall of them should you really feel inclined). That’s of course where the design work stopped and I clicked “buy now” and 18 minutes later it arrived. Now you too can have your very own FU to show that special someone(s) how you feel and that you are loud and proud of your wasted hard earned money.

Lol… so I got grumpy and vented it with this dumb design, built it, and it’s sat around for a minute. Everyone that has seen it says we needed to post it. It’s a Neo 3.9 based motor with all the regular N3.X features. Make for production? I doubt it would sell. But it did make me laugh after I drew it up and then made it the next day.

Back to work… with a reboot on the mental health and some rest we are back and cranking through orders. We should be back to 2-5 days by next week and will start posting our lead times again.

As a busy tax season winds down and we are back to normal 2-7 business days lead times, we have decided we all need a break. Fi will be closed from Monday April 15th through Sunday the 21st. We will resume full production on Monday the 22nd and quickly get through the orders from our time off.
Thanks to all of our customers for understanding that we need a little mental health break and down time to recharge our batteries and get back to 100% for production.

So every couple of years we take a picture of everyone at Fi. Got a little push back on it this time and decided to make a stick figure court room sketch. We look a little less death metal this year, but still some familiar faces. I am so proud to work with this group and our little weird dysfunctional Fi family every day. We try each others patience, but also support each other through life. As anyone that has been by the shop knows… this is the cleanest you will ever see us too.

We are adding a new grade of high temp neo to the mix. It adds 15-20% more motor force over the standard neo we use. You can turn a Neo 3.7 into the motor force of a 3.9 without the added weight difference. 4.11 is closer to an imaginary 4.14. Solid performance gains for those that need the extra beyond what our standard platforms can hold, or weight savings without any loss in performance over the next higher series neo motor.

You know we love an IB install in an SQ build. Single Fi IB18 being used as the sub stage in a true infinite baffle setup. Nothing is smoother or more natural sounding than a proper IB build.
