GREAT READ so I thought I’d share. Gymnastics is such a tough but amazing sport!! Just remember, Gymnastics is a marathon NOT a sprint❤️

I know I posted about this recently but it has come up so many times in the past couple of weeks. My daughter just made the jump from compulories to level 7. Like anything else in life, I wish I knew then what I know now. If only I could have been that chill roll with the punches gym mom I would have had much less stress and worry.

I wish I videoed more of the struggles, the falls, the 15th places.

I wish I saw the progress in the small steps along the way.

I wish I never got caught up in comparing my child to other athletes.

I wish I enjoyed the process more.

I wish I relaxed.

I wish that I told her even more how wonderful and strong and amazing I think she is.

I wish I spent less time watching practice.

I want to tell my level 3 mom self that this is NOT the be all end all. A bad meet or a rough month or even a difficult season does not mean anything in this long marathon of a sport. Don't get hung up on the small stuff. Don't stress the mental blocks or the regression in a skill because of a growth spurt. Don't question the coaches (unless you are worried for a child's saftey).

Just be there in the moment and know that in the end your gymnast's hard work will pay off and you will have a whole new set of worries when they are landing flyaways from giants, twisting vaults and doing full tumbling passes on the beam. Only now can I look back at all those shoot through and squat of fails or the tumbling that landed on her butt or the cartwheel off the beam in read of on....over and over again...and know that was her path.

This is HER sport not mine and that was her path to greatness. There will be new struggles but we leave those at the gym and are learning to ride this roller coaster through the ups AND the downs. This sport is hard. Our kids are all incredible. My gymnast inspires me. I'm going to tell her that today and everyday. And most importantly...being their Mom is hard and you are all ROCKING IT! Good luck to all of your gymnasts this season. I'm sure through all of their triumphs and struggles they will be learning so much and you will be there loving and supporting them! THAT is gymnastics!

This is the face of ,,,Ups I have a lots of choreography cleaning and touch ups to do,,,

1st competition for the season, for this hards working kids.

I love to see when the team is having fun .These kids are working really hard in the gym and at school ,and we are all proud of them.And big Thanks to the parents being amazing and supportive.
That was a great Christmas party.
