Pops is finally out of the hospital y’all 🙌🏾 Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all the prayers & positivity. Your overwhelming love and support got us thru some really hard days 🥹🫶🏾

We still need it. Although dad is home, we’ve learned he has cancer. Still hard to type that out, let alone say it but I guess I have to get used to it.

I know we’re not the first or last family to fight this ugly disease and we know how blessed we are that my dad is still here. But it’s still devastating because who wants to see someone they adore in pain? The uncertainty of it all doesn’t make it any easier either. We have overcome a lot but this is one fight we are scared about.

Pops is our anchor. He’s also the captain of this ship. Stormy seasons we know how to weather but only because he, our mom and God have been the leading the way. I’ve never worried too much when things go wrong because before I can Pops has always been right there reminding me that there is nothing we can’t get thru. Now it’s my turn and it’s been hard. I’ve read so many scriptures to stay positive, listened to testimonials, gospel, you name it. My faith is strong but how do I tell my heart to stop freaking worrying? Feels like I’m failing God with this attitude but I can’t help it 😞

Luckily my dad is handling it way better than the rest of us 😂 His warrior spirit is in full bloom. I’m sure he’s nervous. Not for himself but for the rest of us. Yet in still, this man is proving why he’s our real life super hero and I couldn’t be prouder. He’s not complaining, he’s not bitter and is somehow smiling thru it all. Pops is so determined to beat this that we can’t do nothing but match his energy.

So please don’t be sad for us. Just keep praying. God has been so good to our family and He still is. We took this picture a couple months ago at my niece’s epic Sweet Pinkteen. We were so happy and had the best time celebrating Semira and making new memories. And even though life isn’t so rosy right now, we have faith that one day we will be celebrating again. We ask that you do too 🙏🏾💗 2 Corinthians 5:7
