Elementary school students are being introduced to potential careers in Southern Nevada's most in-demand occupations through the official roll-out of the "NV My Future" and "Workforce Blueprint for Kids" activity books!
Through fun activities in the workbooks, students are exposed to career possibilities in Southern Nevada's target industries and the skills required for those careers.

This is how Detr Nevada, Nevadaworks and work together to help connect employers to a ready workforce under one unified brand.
EmployNV is the statewide brand for Nevada’s public workforce system. It includes EmployNV.gov and a network of American Job Centers that help job seekers and employers with no-cost employment and training. EmployNV Career Hubs assist job seekers and provide vital connections to other community organisations, EmployNV Business Hubs help businesses, and EmployNV Youth Hubs serve young adults ages 16 to 24. Services at the hubs are available through the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) and Nevada’s two local workforce development boards, Nevadaworks and Workforce Connections.

In this special 100th episode, Carmen Gladys Cauchi Andrade, mother of Executive Director Jaime Cruz, shares her inspiring life story.
Driven by her passion for numbers, Carmen pursued an accounting certificate and later earned a Public Accountant degree, opening doors to exciting opportunities. Her impressive career took her from the Ministry of Agriculture to Dasatour SA, a tourism agency, where she combined her love of numbers with her desire to travel.
Carmen's journey continued when she immigrated to the United States. While learning English, she lovingly cared for children. Her career path led her to Harrah's, where she began as a housekeeper and later transitioned to a seamstress. She left Harrah's and started a new career working for the Clark County School District, where she eventually retired.
Tune in now to listen to Carmen's inspiring story of resilience and perseverance, and how she continues to engage in the Las Vegas community and nurture her passion for gardening.

The Chief Local Elected Official (LEO) Consortium has new leadership roles, with Las Vegas Councilwoman Olivia Diaz now serving as chair of the consortium.
While not members of the Workforce Connections Board, the LEOs oversee primary board activities such as appointing board members, fiduciary responsibilities over local area resources, budget approvals, and coordinating inter-local government agreements. The LEOs are appointed to the consortium by their respective government bodies.
New leadership roles are assumed every two years. The LEOs assumed their new roles during the November 14, 2023, Chief Local Elected Official Consortium meeting. The new roles are:
Olivia Diaz, City of Las Vegas, Councilwoman, Ward 3 – LEO Consortium Chair
Michelle Romero, City of Henderson, Mayor – LEO Consortium Vice Chair
Commissioner William McCurdy II, Clark County, Commissioner, District D – LEO Consortium Vice Chair Elect
