Somerset Lone Mountain is celebrating Kindness & Friendship Week from **September 3-6**! Let's kick off the week with a spirit day:

**Tuesday, September 3rd: Wear a Blue Shirt & Jeans!**

Can my child wear a blue dress instead of blue shirt and jeans? Yes, as long as it’s school-appropriate.

Please make sure shirts and jeans are school appropriate. If your child prefers not to wear blue, they should come dressed in their regular school uniform.

Inspired Movement for grades 3-8 : So you think you can dance? Oh you can?!! Well can you inspire others when you do it? If your answer was yes then, Inspired Movement needs you!

Inspired Movement is Somerset Academy Lone Mountain’s mime dance team. Our goal is to motivate, inspire, uplift and give our students a sense of belonging. Which in turn, will make them comfortable with knowing and accepting who they are!

How do we do that? I'm so glad you asked!
Inspired Movement is a group of inspirational mime dancers. We inspire others by illustrating uplifting song lyrics with our hand movements, body gestures, and facial expressions. As you may already know mimes wear white paint, white gloves and are full of expressions to make the songs come alive! So if you would like to help inspire, motivate and uplift others, then Inspired Movement is for you!

Auditions will be held THIS Saturday, August 31st at 1pm in the MPR

Prepare a short dance to a motivating/uplifting song and be prepared to dance on the spot to songs that will be played during the audition.

Here's a blurb from our Parent/Student Handbook about Spirit Days:

Spirit Days: The last day of the school week, usually a Friday, will be our scheduled Spirit Day. Students are allowed to wear their Somerset Academy school T-shirt on Friday with jeans. This attire is only allowed on Spirit Days. (Jeans must be BLUE/BLACK denim with no patterns and must not be cut-of , frayed, or have holes.) If a Lone Mountain Spirit Shirt is not worn on Spirit Day, the regular uniform is required. ***School approved footwear must be worn; Crocs, flip flops, slippers, and heelies are not allowed to be worn.

Wildcat Families,

I appreciate all the patience and understanding you've shown on Day 1. Our Wildcats and their families are the best! We have such amazing students, and we really care about them.

Just a quick reminder:

*We always want to be good neighbors. Please make sure not to block the driveways in the neighborhood.

*MS and MS siblings in Elementary drop off time is between 7:40am and 8:00am.

*Elementary drop off time is between 8:10am and 8:25am. Do not drop off your Elementary student before their drop off schedule.

*Stay in your car when you're in the carline. We have staff members on the field that are going to assist your child. If you're walking your kids to the walking gate, do not block the fence/gate for our carline students to go in. You simply have to drop your kids off and go.

*Dismissal (Pick-Up) today for Elementary is 3:20pm (ALL ELEMENTARY students). Pick-up for MS students who don't have Flex is 2:47pm. Only those students who have been opted out of FLEX will be released. Pick-up for MS students who have Flex is 3:20pm.

*Please have your placards visible during dismissal.
