Psa. I cant stress this enough people, check with your insurance company to see what your comprehensive insurance deductible is. I just looked at a ladys new car that has a $2,000 deductible. She has less than $3,000 in damages, and that means she has to come out of pocket of $2,000 to get her new car repaired. I have seen several more with $1,000 deductibles with not much more in damages than that. Unless you can afford to hand over $1,000 plus at any given time, you cannot afford to carry a high deductible.

We love working on classics, and we love El Caminos. Here are two beauties that I got to work on recently. The black 70 is a fully restored 454 SS. And the white 83 is going through restoration. Its been in the same family since it was brand new.

I know I have preached this before, but its time again. This week I have had several calls for estimates for damage ranging from very minor hail damage to minor collision. The problem with these estimates that they are more than people are able to pay out of pocket. Normally people in these situations would then turn to their insurance coverage to cover the cost. This is where it really becomes a problem, more and more people are carrying $1000 and higher deductibles. If you cannot afford to come out of pocket with your deductible, then you cannot afford to carry such a high deductible. Do not think that things will not happen, because it does. I have never met one single person that said they planned on backing into something, or something flying out of nowhere to hit them, but yet we work on dented and damaged cars daily. If you are financially able to cover your deductible, then your fine, but if not, you may need to have your policy reevaluated.
