Got to end the week giving a performance for our family & friends! ๐ŸŽต

06/11/2023

On our LAST ๐Ÿ’” day of Clarinet Camp, we started the morning in our last Clarinet Choir rehearsal, then got to hear our High School Interns perform 2 pieces (one was composed by Intern, Maria Pitts!), had a Q&A with the interns to get advice and tips for practicing and making the most out of your Band experience, then took a camp photo, enjoyed our last snack time, ran through our Mega Choir piece, played one last game where we learned reeeeeally important things about each other (like who was a cat person and who was a dog person), then performed a FABULOUS concert for all of our family and friends!

Day 4 started with clarinet choir rehearsal, Mega Choir rehearsal, then CLARINET FAMILY DAY where each student got to play on an Eb Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, and Contrabass Clarinet (all sanitized in between students)

then Backun Musical Services gave us a virtual tour of their clarinet factory so we could see how they make their clarinets & all of the really cool jobs that exist in the industry! We also learned some great tips for our to care for your precious clarinet and keep it protected.

Then we ended the day putting the final touches on our clarinet choir pieces before Fridayโ€™s concert!

On Day 3, we had Clarinet Choir rehearsals, snack, rehearsed our Mega Choir piece (Sunroof) while 40+ students performed their solo individually for a judge in the preliminary round of our Solo Contest, played Air Volleyball (Clarion Choir won again!), announced the Solo Contest Finals, then the 9 finalists performed for the Finals Judge and our entire camp in the auditorium, and then ended the day back in our clarinet choirs rehearsing music for our concertโ€ฆit was another great day!

We spent most of the first two days of camp in our clarinet choirs sight reading music and picking our pieces for Fridayโ€™s concert, playing games where the clarinet choirs competed in teams, rehearsing Sunroof in our Mega Choir, making new friends, and of courseโ€ฆsnack time!

We are so excited to spend the week making music with all of our new clarinet friends!
