On behalf of Dr. Truitt and the Board of Education, the Lee County School System is deeply saddened to share that our former Chair of the Board of Education and Lee County School System Educator, Sylvia Vann, has passed away.
Mrs. Vann was a champion of education. Her dedication and commitment to teaching left a lasting impression on her students and other staff members. After retiring from the Lee County School System, Mrs. Vann served as a board member for twenty years. Her impact on the people of Lee County leaves an incredible legacy. She touched the lives of so many and our community is better because of her influence and actions.
We offer our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.

Dr. Truitt shared her vision for the 2024-2025 school year at Convocation. She said that we cannot go to the next level alone, elevation requires teamwork & collaboration.
Convocation 2024 was a hit! Teachers are officially back and we kicked off the 24-25 school year the only way we know how - on another level!
All of our bus routes are covered and wheels are ready to roll! We are ready for day 1.
