What's in common with these does? Other than them all being gorgeous ❤ These girls are all first fresheners, and they're all sired by the same buck! Hollands Haven Cappuccino, one of my very first registered bucks. We call it the Demi line since his dam is our oldest foundation doe, Softwine Demitasse, and more than half our herd is related to her. I couldn't be more pleased with the consistency in this line of goats ☺️

And now the bucks! My homebred boys although I had plans for will be going for much lower, But for my Udderly TopNotch and Straightway buck, I would like to get back what I spent. I have pictures of progeny, parents, maternal, and paternal siblings for just about every buck. So feel free to reach out to me with any and all questions 😁 Located in Western NY.

Since we’ve gone ahead and kicked things off a little sooner for our 2024 breeding plans I will be frantically trying to make some space in the barn before our fall kidding season begins, so, with that being said I have a couple more tough cuts to make. While we do not show or milk test currently, we’ve put a lot of thought, sweat, and hard work to raise and breed these animals. Because we don't have much data to show they will be priced lower than their value, but I want to make it very clear that these are not culls and that I will be very picky when it comes to choosing their new homes. First in the spotlight will be the Does, most were supposed to stay here longer since I still had plans for them, but I’ve also retained progeny from most, and others I have littermates of, which makes these decisions a little easier. I already have prices in mind for everyone but feel free to reach out to me and make an offer, I am very motivated to move these guys out. Located in Western NY and will have transport coming out in August, pm me for any questions!

Another beautiful first freshener who just wows me every time I see her on the stand. I think this one may be my favorite..
2-year-old Carmal Farm AL Adel (Dreahook Farm AL Atlas x Stonebroke Farm ND Poppy) At just 2 weeks fresh 😍
Her dam I've long admired. As soon as I found out I could get my hands on one of her daughters I took it, and she did NOT disappoint!

My loss, your gain. Some unexpected events and changes to our herd have been made, which has led me to once again make more hard cuts I hadn’t planned on making, at least for this year. So the first animal I want to highlight is from my very best in my herd, this year’s only buckling I retained and fell in love with. His dam is by far our most productive doe, who scored VEVV87 as a first freshener, higher than her dam’s FF score who recently scored VEEE91 and also qualifies for her SG. The only reason I am parting with is is because I am able to recreate the breeding, and I have his littermate sister who I will be breeding in the fall along with a couple other paternal sisters, so i will have plenty more udder pictures for reference next spring. So finally introducing, Northridge Farms MS Romeo, Chocolate and polled buckling looking for a new herd.

We have some pretty exciting announcements to be made soon, but for today's announcement we officially ended our Spring 2023 kidding season with a very unexpected, nerve-racking, and in the end pleasant experience.
Our first and oldest foundation doe, Softwine Demitasse, kidded yesterday at 10:44 am with triplets. The unexpected thing about Demi is that for one she's 10 years old, she wasn't on the breeding schedule, and she hasn't really shown signs of going into heat over the last two years. I had finally come to terms that she was most likely done with kidding. She's always been my deepest-bodied doe so it was no surprise I hadn't really noticed any change in her stomach, and when I went to bump her I could never really feel anything solid like a kid. But back in the beginning of May I had noticed that her tiny dried-up udder looked the slightest bit bigger, and she started to look looser in the back. I called and asked our vet for their opinion and they suggested that it could be a false pregnancy since she I hadn't seen her with any bucks. The latest breeding date I had was for June 5th. That doe did end up kidding on her due date and with Demi just getting more and more uncomfortable by the day, sitting on her hind legs, biting her ankles, and labored breathing we went ahead and gave her lute and dex under the instructions of our vet (especially now with the poor quality air we have from Canadian wildfires) so that I could make sure I was there in case I had to assist if things were to go wrong. We luted her on the 5th, then 24 hours go by and nothing, after 38 hours of waiting and on the 7th in the morning right before I had to go to work I checked to see if she had dilated at all, and as soon as I did she started pushing. I think waiting for the first kid to come out was really the scariest part of it. I had no idea what term these babies were going to be, if they were going to have missing limbs, or stuck in a tricky position 😵‍💫 But luckily after the first, BIG, full-term buck came out, it was smooth sailing ahead. As soon as I was done drying one kid off I'd turn around and see another kid already out, still in the sack.
In the end, she gave me two big bucklings and a tiny little doeling. All alive and all doing very well 💕 I'll be letting her keep the tiny doeling while being supplemented and the two big bucklings are being bottle-fed. I'm just so happy everyone is alive and doing well and couldn've asked for a better kidding season 🥳 Demi's outdone herself and even gave me one last Demi doeling and one of those two beautiful bucks to retain.
I believe I also know who the father is since these two bucks are chamosiee, and my only cham buck I have also happened to be the buck I had out and bred to the doe due on the 5th, so it all lines up! Not exactly sure how it happened since I had been there the whole time and only had him out for no more than 30 minutes, but mom and all kids are doing good and that's all I care about. Kids will of course all be DNA'd and if anyone is interested in a steller buckling this is a rare opportunity to sn**ch up a Demi kid. I've retained all of her daughters, multiple bucks, and even sought after some more daughters that were born before I was given the opportunity to own this beautiful goat 💛

A Valentine's surprise?? for me?
Kicking off our 2023 Kidding Season,
Mini Land Ranch BK Suzie VEVV87 unexpectedly kidded last night with gorgeous doe buck twins! Something I instantly noticed about both of these kids was how broad their noses and muzzles are, I mean just look at those nostrils 😍 And for the cherry on top, both are polled! More Information coming soon..

A couple fuzzy udder pics of our two most recent first fresheners, Carmal farm AL Whitney and Carmal farm LE Milley with 12 hr fills and both 6 weeks fresh since kidding ❤️ These goats are just lovely to milk despite their milk stand manners.. But the long teats and buttery soft udders make it all forgivable. Whitney kidded with just a single buck, but her production is just as good if not better than Milley's who kidded with twins. I'm very impressed with these two as first fresheners and their overall conform, they're not too bad on the eyes either 🥰

Our very first home-bred doe, Northridge Farms MH Claire.

I'll admit I often find myself feeling envious when I stumble across posts of people introducing some of their newest additions with very well-known breeders and goats in their pedigrees and can't help but wish I had animals with similar lineage. But this little First freshener has reminded me that you can still have an amazing goat without having their pedigrees jam-packed with top-notch breeders in them. If I were to look at this girl's pedigree alone I probably wouldn't even consider having this goat in my herd. it isn't anything special, Her dam was one of the very first registered goats we bought along with her sire, who was our first registered buck I had bought when I had no idea what to look for confirmation-wise or read a goat's pedigree, I just thought he looked pretty and it would be nice to have a polled buck so we didn't have to worry about disbudding as much. neither parents had stuck out to me nor do they currently reside here, but when Claire was born I instantly knew that I wanted to keep her. Since then she had stolen my heart with her sweet and cuddly personality. As she grew I gradually learned how to judge a goat based on its confirmation which allowed me to appreciate just how special of a goat she is. She has blown me away as a FF and outshines the other FFs with much more expensive pedigrees compared to hers. She has matured into a gorgeous doe and I can't wait to continue watching her grow with each freshening 😊

Quick bragging post for this doe 😋

Gladdie Acres GA Penny (CH Gladdie Acres Giorgio Armani x SG Gladdie Acres Mardi Gras 2*M)

This girl is one of our best milkers. She’s as wide as she is long, with capacity for days, A soft udder that milks down to nothing, and nice plump teats that make milking a dream ❤️

We added her along with her sister to our herd with the plan to freshen both and keep the better of the two. After showing no signs of being bred we figured she didn’t take until her udder suddenly began to fill with milk, yet no kids 🤔 We eventually found out she had a late-term abortion and hid it from us..
She was never a goat that stood out to me and the plan was to sell her, but her will to put milk in the pail made me change my mind, and so we bred her again. For her second freshening, she gave us a beautiful doeling that I still regret selling to this day. She’s definitely filled out a lot more and is maturing into a beautiful doe, and her udder is a great example of why you should let your does freshen a couple times before making the decision to cull. The first picture attached is her ff udder, second is her second ff two days after she kidded with a single on her, third & fourth are of her two weeks into lactation with a 12-hour fill then milked out. The last picture is her now, 152 days in lactation with once-a-day milking!
This will be our first year to milk test and I’m beyond excited to see what this girl is capable of for her next freshening 😊

Thank you for visiting! We are a small farm located in Western NY. We started our little goat business in 2019 when we bought our two first Nigerian dwarf goats with the intent of just keeping them as pets and for milk.
But as we fell in love with their personalities and after doing some more research on the breed we were quick to buy our first registered goats.
Ever since we became members of the ADGA and went from having two goats to too many! We focus on the health and quality of our animals and test our herd annually for CL, CD&T, and Johnes.
If you are interested in buying an animal from our farm or have any questions you can either send us a message, text or email us and we'll get right back to you!
