When we make changes we don't ever downsize! Our new wax melts come in an 8 cavity shell loaded with 3.5+oz of smell good wax! Our wax melts are $5.50 each or 5 for $25. We will also offer single sample shells(.85+oz) for $1 each.

We're back! I have taken a little bit of a break from making new things. But I'm so excited to be back! In the coming weeks I will be posting updated items. There will be some changes. During my break I started another full time business as an independent stylist that I absolutely love! I have been working on downsizing some of my wax items along with a new pour schedule. With that being said we will no longer be offering candles. We will be changing our wax melts up and still offer the wax bar in several locations. The website is inactive for now but shipping is still available. You can send a message for orders to be shipped or picked up at a local retail location. I will have updated information posted with ready to ship Scents. If you are wanting custom orders wait times may be a little longer then normal while I tweak out my new schedule. I'm so excited to be back and share my love of all things smell good 😊

Making our rounds this week! Today we restocked Hodge Podge of Treasures Crafts and Gifts and also added Farmhouse Cider to the Wax Bar!

We are doing an online fundraiser for Jolene Roberts sweet fur baby Godiva until July 10th! You can order on our website www.jlboutiquescents.com shipping an local pick up are available. You can also chose the special Godiva label for the 17oz candles!

Here is her story:

I have been having issues with veterinarian clinics here in the valley and my local veterinary clinic that I have been with for sometime is losing my 4 English bulldogs as patients.
On January 9 this year Godiva had CCL surgery. She has had issues with that surgery from the get-go. I’m going to try to make this short, but it won’t be easy.

My local vet whom performed the first surgery, I have been bothering them since about two weeks after Godiva’s surgery to see Godiva as she was forming a bubble where her CCL surgery was done, has been blowing me off! I called them to let them know that she has a bubble like bump to the side of her knee/hip are we’re the surgery took place. I was told by the vet that it was normal and that CCL surgery is very intense and takes 6 to 8 months to heal, and it was nothing to worry about.
Early March I called them again trying to get her in again same thing. Nothing to worry about! Middle of May I called again to explain that now not only is the bump bigger but it is warm to the touch and it has been four months since surgery. They finally set her an appointment and took x-ray to make sure that they did not leave anything in there while performing the CCL surgery. The x-ray came back negative. So they decided to poke and prod at the bump, and a yellow pus like liquid started draining from the bump. The doctor decided she needed a draining tube. After 3 cuts on the bubble they finally found where to place the draining tube (I was livid that they had to cut her that many times to find where to put the drain tube)!! Before leaving the clinic. I requested that she be put on antibiotics, the doctor insist that she did not need antibiotics that this is normal in some cases. I continued to argue with her, but got nowhere, and no antibiotics!!

They told me to bring her back in four days to have the drain tube removed. During those four days, Godiva had excessive amounts of a pus like fluid draining, where the CCL surgery/bump was.
When I took her back to have the drain tube removed, it was still leaking the yellow pus like fluid. I asked my vet for antibiotics again, they said there was no need for them that she would be fine. I was not OK with that.
I got in contact with another veterinarian clinic that said more than likely she has a joint infection and it needs to be addressed ASAP. This is a new vet in Richland that I will be taking all of my bullies to. They suggest that I call Spokane surgery and get Godiva in ASAP. When I called Spokane, they were very prompt and concerned but the soonest they could get me in just for a consultation would be July 11. The lady knew that was way too long for Godiva to wait. She emailed me a list of high-quality surgeons from the Washington area, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. She told me to call on those surgeons to see if I could get a sooner appointment. I am so pleased to say that Godiva will be seen by a surgeon in Oregon a week from today.

However, Today she had an appointment with our local veterinarian here in Yakima and I was determined that I was not leaving there without antibiotics and I also promise my beautiful little girl that I would not let that mean Vet cut her again!!! Long story short she is on antibiotics and Godiva DID NOT get chopped on!
The antibiotics should keep her safe as we wait out a week to see a professional surgeon!

I took Godiva to Hood River Oregon today to see a surgeon specialist. This doctor is completely amazing. He felt really bad for Godiva and said, after reading the medical records that he cannot make heads or tails out of the doctors records on Godiva that the doctors records don’t even stand to the Washington state standards, and do not follow Washington state protocols.
The records didn’t even indicate exactly what she used to fix the CCL therefore other than the x-ray he is unsure of what is really going on in there until he performs a corrective surgery of removing what my local vet had placed in her knee area to supposedly fix her CCL. The surgeon specialist did say that the two holes that my local vet drilled to place whatever material they used were drilled out way too big, and that the material which is unknown that they used is slipping and sliding around. In his words, a sloppy mess.
Dr. Peterson, the surgeon specialist in Hood River, Oregon will be performing a corrective surgery on Godiva July 13, 2023. He wants Godiva to stay on anabiotic‘s for her safety until surgery is performed. This doctor is so thorough, compassionate and highly educated.
He was unsure of what the big deal was about getting antibiotics. He did say she should’ve been on anabiotic’s sooner and that he was proud that I demanded antibiotics before leaving my local vet clinic. He also reassured me that if I have any problems getting any more antibiotics from my local vet while Godiva waits on surgery to call him and he will make sure That she receives her antibiotics.

Unfortunately, from the beginning of Godiva’s CCL surgery through, hopefully the end, I will have spent just under 10 K. If anyone can help in anyway I greatly appreciative it and so does Godiva.
