COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE WHEN USING PURPLE
SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER

Here are the two most common mistakes I see people making with Purple
Shampoo/Conditioner!

1- Using it every time they wash their hair
2- Using it for blonde that is honey, caramel and darker (it won’t work)
Purple products include direct dyes (a type of hair color molecule that deposits
onto the hair). Because it’s a direct dye - it is not able to LIFT or BRIGHTEN your hair.
So while it may be able to temporarily neutralize any bright yellow highlights, it will
not make them “white.’’ Also, cooler colors tend to appear darker and dustier than warm colors. Gold tones
actually cause SHINE and bright reflects (hairstylists use YELLOWS in brunettes to
add extra shine). So if you are using purple to “cool” down your blonde - it’s normal
for your hair to appear darker and less shiny.
Knowing the how/why behind using color products at home is the most important
thing so that you can manage your expectations!

HOW TO CHANGE UP FOR YOUR HAIR PRODUCTS FOR SPRING / WARMER
WEATHER! 🌸🌷

Your winter hair routine won’t work for Spring - here are some changes I’m
making as the warmer weather and sunny season starts!
1 - I switch up my conditioners! In the wintertime our hair gets extremely dry from
the extra layers of clothes and low temps! In the spring time, those heavy
conditioners can weigh your hair down and make you wash your hair more often
(who has time for that??). I like to switch to a more lightweight conditioner in the
spring!
2 - I dust off my hats! Did you know that direct sunlight doesn’t JUST impact your
skin - but also your haircolor? When you know you’re going to be outside during
those peak sun hours (10a-2pm) make sure to protect your color with hats or
scarves.
3 - I stock up on my heat protectant. Speaking of the sun, even if you’re not going
to use hot-tools on your hair, heat protectant is still a must! They can protect your
hair from UV damage and color fading. A few mists should do the trick!
