**Week 10 (August 5th-9th)** is just around the corner, and we're thrilled to announce a **late addition** to our schedule: **Rube Goldberg Machines**! ๐ค๐ง This fan-favorite class will be available to 3rd-5th graders from **1:00 PM to 4:30 PM**. ๐
**Class Description:**
Dive into the whimsical world of Rube Goldberg machines, where creativity knows no bounds! These intricate contraptions might seem a bit mad at first, but theyโre all about turning everyday items into a spectacular chain reaction of events. Imagine turning old gadgets and random gizmos into a functioning, fantastical machine! ๐ ๏ธโจ
In this class, kids will:
๐น Engineer their own tabletop-sized Rube Goldberg machines using a treasure trove of vintage parts.
๐น Learn valuable skills in tool use and basic engineering principles.

We have several openings next week(July 29-August 2). Many of these classes are new and could possibly only be offered this summer! Donโt miss these fun opportunities!
We would love to see more registrations for Engineering Adventures! Dr. Jason Hurst is instructing this 7-10th grade class, and it is sure to be a blast! In this morning class, students with use engineering principles to problem solve and strategize. Many of our fun devices (Gforce, the ballista, etc.) will be used in this class! If your camper is interested or intrigued by engineering, be sure to sign them up!!
A fun afternoon class (not listed below) is our newly added โWet, Wild, and Wonderfulโ for 1st- 3rd graders. It will be taught by Kathryn Turbek, a middle school teacher, who is certified in Project Wet and Wild.
3-5 graders will enjoy the morning class โAdventures in Anatomyโ, where students will dive into body systems, making models and participating in dissections. This class was developed and is instructed by 8 year homeschool teacher Trish Preece and a retired Physical Therapist, Steve Marcum.
5-8 graders will enjoy the afternoon โGross scienceโ, where kids will explore all the fun, gross, messy sides of science. This class is taught by retired Montessori and Sayre teacher, Amy Mayer.
AppInventor is a fun 7-10th grade class held in the afternoon. Developed and instructed by Berea College Professor, Dr. Mario Nakazawa, this class show students how to create and use their own apps.
We have spots available for 1st through 3rd graders next week in Chemistry I in the afternoons!
Campers will get to explore PH, atoms, polymers, and more in this fun, engaging, hands-on camp!

๐ง Adulting 101 (7th-10th grade):

๐ Kerbal Space (5th-8th grade):
Step into the world of Kerbal Space Program! Learn to build rockets, navigate orbits, and undertake NASA-like missions such as docking with space stations and landing on celestial bodies. This hands-on computer-based camp blends gaming with real-world physics, math, and engineering challenges. Itโs rocket science made fun!
๐ง Small Engine Rebuild (7th-10th grade):

Our new Body Dectives: Adventures in Anatomy class is only offered twice this summer! The kids will be dissecting all the organs- from sheep plucks to learn about lungs, to brains, eye balls, hearts, and kidneys! In the class, they will learn about all about body systems. It is definitely a class you donโt want to miss! There are 6 spots left- hurry and register before they are taken! This is also a class they we can make age exceptions for, if your 5-8th grader is a budding physician!
Wet, Wild l, and Wonderful is also another fun class! It is in our regular rotation however, it is one of those classes that can be different every single time you take it! Study animals, engineering with nature, and learning all about our earth and cyclesโฆ. all while exploring the creek on our property. Itโs a great summer camp class!
Also, if you find a class of interest wait-listed, please add your child so that we can reach you if spots become available. We are often able to expand classes or add sessions, and wait-lists are the only way we know to do this!
We are lucky to have the Director Timothy Knauer and the Solar Telescope from the MacAdam Student Observatory with us at Newton's Attic today! Tim arranged his time so that morning and afternoon students, instructors (and parents coming through at the lunch transition) can all take a safe look at the sun today!
