Self-learning is the ability to gather, process and retain new knowledge without the aid of a teacher – and it’s a valuable skill. Self-learners are extremely engaged in their education and enjoy learning new things.
This school year, encourage your child to keep a journal to write down new words they learn while reading. 📚📝
They can use Kumon's Recommended Reading List to find their next book: https://cloud.email-kumon.com/RRL
Your child can keep track of their books in their journal, make use of the Book Tracker provided by their Kumon Instructor, or download a Book Tracker Sheet at the link above to create their own!
Just like Reese says, challenges are just opportunities in disguise! Keep pushing forward and never give up! 🌟

The 2024 Kumon North America Book Drive kicked off at our Annual Instructors Conference. Kumon Instructors, Associates, and Guests at the 2024 KNA Instructors Conference in Dallas, Texas, were part of something truly incredible! We put out a call to action, inviting attendees to bring gently used books—whether for kids or adults—to our expo booth. The response was overwhelming, and we successfully collected and donated over 200 books to the Genesis Women's Shelter & Support in Dallas. These books will have a direct impact, supporting women and children by fostering education and strengthening family bonds.

In fact, a personalized kindergarten readiness plan should speak directly to that child – their age, their needs, their abilities – and it should be adjusted as skills grow over time.
