I am pleased to announce the new resource that is now LIVE for caregivers and those with early, mild to moderate memory loss/dementia “Brain Boost” program. Its been a blast collaborating with UK Sanders Brown and various community partners including some UK extension staff, as an actress for these impactful brain health videos and resources. Together we are hopeful this resource will help those navigate dealing with early/mild to moderate memory loss and dementia with tools and tips they can utilize.

Mental health first aid class this Monday has been cancelled! Sorry for the inconvenience! Should you know a group that could benefit from this training, please reach out to the extension office as we have the capacity to look at hosting something like this for any groups, businesses in the future.

FCS was blessed to conclude Black History month with two wonderful events: Thanks to Justin Balcor World Music Instructor for FCPS who brought these talent young men from Carter G Woodson to help me provide a great performance to the Family Care Center mothers, children and staff. Videos to come!!

FCS had a very busy weekend. Special thanks to the collaboration event with FCS and KAPAAW
for a wonderful Black History Program and followed up by a wonderful IEP workshop and panel discussion on Sunday afternoon. I was honored to receive A different world’s first annual difference maker award. Working with wonderful community partners such as these makes it easy to make a difference!!
The 20th Annual Bluegrass Regional Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Conference is just around the corner. In addition to the featured speaker, Allison Davis Maxon, MS, LMFT workshops focusing on trauma, social media use, stress management, crucial conversations, and substance use will be offered. Ms. Maxon will kick-0ff the conference with "Kinship Families: Supporting Inter-generational Healing" and wrap up with "Seven Core Issues in Kinship Families." A time was had last night for a first of what we hope is not last Super Bowl party thanks to the collaborative efforts of Alzheimer’s Association and Berea College Adopt A Grandparent Program. FCS is grateful for the wonderful community partners and effort to making this event so enjoyable for are early stage and caregiver support groups!
Big thanks to Franklin County FCS agent Carla Carter for leading the Cricut workshop classes we hosted at Fayette County Extension Office. These ladies worked hard and came out with some cards and bags!!

FCS is excited to confirm a new addition to this months self care homemaker leader lesson this Thursday. Angela of Bluegrass Ayurvedic Spa will be in house to provide hand massage and have some of her beautiful hand soaps and scrubs available. $1/ min for hand massage.
