This week at ReBelle is mostly continuing classes, but we have a couple of new classes starting. First up, on Saturday Raellyn will be teaching the Gourdgeous Crochet Pumpkin class- perfect for the first day of Fall. Then on Sunday, Conley will be teaching her Basic Toe-Up Ribbed Sock class. Whether you are new to sock knitting or simply want to try knitting socks the other way, this two- session class will teach you the ins and outs of knitting socks from the toes up. And, of course, we will be continuing our Joji Locatelli KAL via Zoom on Thursday afternoon which is free and open to anyone looking for a break in their day. For this week’s finished object Friday, we give you Robyn’s Tillie Poncho by Linda Wolthuis knitted with Berroco Tillie. Tillie is a luxurious hand-dyed yarn made of pima cotton and cupro, a sustainable silk-like byproduct of cotton processing. Tillie’s chainette construction creates a lightweight yarn with generous yardage, along with amazing softness and structure. We absolutely love this yarn and can’t wait for you to try it.

Today we continue September’s KAL. This month we will be doing another designer focused project this time using the designs of Joji Locatelli. There are tons of designs to choose from including projects from past knit alongs like the Odyssey Shawl and the Hipster Shawl, also tons of new options that we haven't tried. This KAL will be happening at the same time as Joji's Fall KAL so we strongly suggest you jump over to her site and register for that as well. We have added the perfect stuffing for your amigurumi projects! This ecological cotton filling is made from recycled textile waste from the fashion industry. It’s fluffy, lightweight and voluminous, the perfect filler for those adorable creatures y’all keep making. This package contains 250 grams of filling- 85% recycled cotton, 15% other fibers. We added the grey and dark blue colors since darker fiber fills are hard to find, but we can add the cream if there is demand.

This week at ReBelle, we have some really fun classes happening. First up, on Tuesday we have the Quynn Hat by Woolly Wormhead. This has long been a shop favorite design and we know you can't knit just one. On Wednesday, we have another addictive pattern class, the emotional support chicken. These three dimensional chicken friends are a great way to use up scraps, learn shortrows, and practice finishing techniques. On Thursday, we will be continuing our Joji Locatelli KAL via Zoom which is free and open to the public. Last but certainly not least, Raellyn will be teaching her class on reading crochet charts and patterns on Saturday. If you have ever looked at a crochet pattern and felt overwhelmed by abbreviations and symbols, this is the class for you. You can register for any of our classes in person, online, or by calling the shop at 859-389-9750.

For this week’s Finished Object Friday, Susan shows off her Vitamin D sweater knit in Vaya by Lang Yarns. This sweater pattern by Heidi Kirmaier is the perfect three season sweater and the Vaya, which is a blend of cotton, wool, and yak, gives the finished sweater the perfect amount of swing and drape.

Today marks 18 years of ReBelle and we can’t even begin to express how grateful we are that you have allowed us to be a part of this amazing community. This week at ReBelle we have a few open spaces in the September Project Help session, this monthly class is perfect if you are stuck on a project (knit or crochet) or have a mistake that you don't know how to fix- Susan has all the answers!! On Thursday we will be starting the Joji Locatelli KAL via Zoom which will happen every Thursday in September. Then, Thursday evening Susan will be teaching the Knitted Mandala Spinner class which is a 2-part class teaching the basics of lace while making a cool spinning decoration for your home. Last but certainly not least is our 18th anniversary sale-abration on Saturday where we will be celebrating our 18 years in this community with a sale, some handdyed exclusive yarns, and tons of prizes. 2 years ago today, we opened the doors of our little pink house to the public for the first time.
It was terrifying; almost like when they give you your baby at the hospital and send you home to just figure it out.
But you guys showed up. And you keep showing up.
Some days I wonder if this was the right move. It is exhausting- physically and mentally. It's stressful, constantly worrying if I'm doing the right thing, if we'll have enough sales, if I should throw in the towel, if, if, if...
But this little community that we've built?
It's everything.
Being able to give back to our city, meeting and getting to know so many of you, having our regulars become friends...it means so much to me and I'm so grateful for every single one of you.
And don't even get me started on my team.
They're the best. It's that simple. I love them so much and I'm so thankful for the love they pour back into this little pink house.
Thank you all so much for your continued support of this dream of mine. It means the entire world to me.

This week at ReBelle is all about preparing for the colder months ahead. Do you have a pile of knitwear that needs repairs but aren't sure how to go about it? Susan will be teaching her Mending Your Handknits class this Tuesday, it's a great way to get everything ready for those cold days coming our way. Then on Thursday, we will be continuing our Finishing mini-KAL via Zoom. Last, but not least, if you have a Knitted Wit National Parks passport with 4+ spaces filled, those are due this Saturday. For this week’s Finished Object Friday, we have a great project for using up scraps as well as organizing your supplies. This is the Organizer Mug Cozy, a crochet design by which uses about 50yds of worsted weight yarn and keeps all of your important notions in one place. Robyn made the single color version with some Plymouth Homestead and a bit of Knitted Wit Fi*****ng to add a pop of color.

We are really feeling the Noro cotton blends right now. On the left is the Forsyth by Sandi Prosser knit in Noro Natsumeki and on the right is the Easy-Peasy Poncho pattern from Noro knit in Kakigori. Both projects are laid back knits that let the yarn do most of the work for you.

This week at ReBelle, we have some really great classes coming your way. On Tuesday, Susan will be teaching her Intro to Embroidery class where even the newest stitcher will learn to make a super relaxing medallion. We also have have two Sweater Workshop sessions starting up this week and there are still two spaces in the Thursday session and one space in the Saturday session. These will be it until the winter sessions start up in January so if you want to knit a sweater before the cold weather hits, you might want to grab a spot. This week at ReBelle we have some fun single session classes for you. First up is Susan's monthly project help session, perfect for those who are stuck on a project and can use a little push to get going again. Next we have a class on knitting a tiny mug of beer (and of course a tiny pretzel to go with it!) On Saturday, Susan will be teaching weaving on a bracelet loom where you will learn to make bracelets and bookmarks on these wonderful little looms. Finally, Raellyn will be teaching the crochet Bramble Basket class, a perfect accessory for decluttering a space. You can sign up for all classes in person or on our site.

For this week's Finished Object Friday we give you the Old Port Hat pattern by Andrea Mowry made with Cascade Yarns Aegean Tweed. This brioche hat uses a series of increases and decreases to give the finished piece a more interesting design. There is also a knit liner that provides your ears with some extra protection from those winter winds. The Aegean Tweed is a great choice for this hat; the rustic organic wool provides some additional texture and interest to the pattern, not to mention that it is super warm and squishy.
