Todd made the recipe off the back of the starter jar (with the added SALT that was excluded from that recipe) in our Le Creuset... I think it turned out just lovely. This is what yours will look like :)

Here's the recipe for our white sourdough... In case you didn't see it on the back of the starter jar...NOTE: We accidentally forgot to include salt!

Some guidance for those who bought sourdough starter...

Feed your starter flour and water only! The starter is healthiest if you feed it often and refresh it often which means you discard most of the old stuff and feed it/build it back up again.

To build the starter up to make bread... Measure, by weight, add that much water and that much flour. For example if you have 2 oz of starter, you need to add 2 oz of water and 2 oz of flour to equal 6 oz of starter... Stir to mix thoroughly and let it sit out until its bubbly and then you can build it up some more by weighing it and adding that much flour and water again and again until you have enough to make your recipe and some extra to save for next time. Feed the starter again and then refrigerate it to keep it until the next time you use it. It can last about a week until it needs to be fed again and/or made into bread with the above process repeating.

News Flash: On December 14th, after more than 11 years of baking bread here in Havelock...Wise Oven will be closing the oven door for good. Be sure to stop by before then so we can say "thank you" in person for your patronage.
