Q&A
What inspired you to join UPC, and how has your experience been so far?
I was inspired to join UPC after attending a lot of their events last year. Along with this, my roommate Ana encouraged me to apply and I’m really glad it did. I’ve always been interesting in event planning and getting more involved on campus. My experience in UPC has been amazing so far. I’ve learned so many beneficial skills and made so many amazing friends also!
What events are you most proud of as a upc member so far?
I was really proud of our event with Darren Bousman last semester! I thought this event was really unique and provided an experience for students that they wouldn’t get anywhere else on campus or in a classroom. Along with this, Darren shared tons of specific stories, answered so many questions, and even stayed after the event was over to interact with students. I overall just thought it was a really cool event and I really enjoyed his insightful advice!
If UPC was a color what would it be and why?
If UPC was a color I think it would be a dark purple. I just think UPC gives dark and mysterious since we are always plotting and scheming different events.
We’ve got a big secret to share… You won’t want to miss it

🔥MEMBER OF THE MONTH 🔥
Chan Ziemann has been selected as member of the month for January and for her amazing work as our former primary programmer. She works tirelessly behind the scenes to get our events planned and contracted. Without Chan, UPC would not be the same. Congratulations, Chan, you deserve it ❤️🔥
Q: How have your involvements within UPC made an impact on your life?
Joining UPC gave me the opportunity to grow personally and professionally in ways my major couldn’t provide. For two years as primary programmer, I have further developed my communication and problem solving skills through unique experiences like our event selection process and working directly with talent agents in the entertainment industry. I’ve also gained some amazing friends along the way!
Q: Which UPC event has impacted you the most in your college career?
The Korean Vegan was so cool. She is such a down-to-earth person, and I loved listening to her storytelling. A group of us in UPC had lunch with Joanne and her husband the following day, and they told more stories while also listening to ours. My favorite events are the ones where students create meaningful connections and lifetime memories.
Q: If UPC was an animal, what would it be and why?
UPC would be one of the campus cats!!! Not everyone knows about us, but once you know, you know. Plus we have a hidden little cathouse to hang out in all day (the UPC office in the Union).
Happy Birthday to Karen, UPC’s amazing advisor!!! 🧁🫶🎉✨
She is so passionate about the work she does for her students and the UNL community. She is always our biggest fan, and we are so thankful for her support! Comment below a reason why you love Karen!
