Three cheers for the very first graduates of our Nurse Residency Program, Megan Vega, Mackenzie Brown, and Madeline Dahlgren! 🎉🎉🎉

The Nurse Residency Program is a full-time formalized 12-month orientation for Registered Nurses who have recently completed an accredited nursing program or have less than one year of experience. Our Education team mentored the Nurse Residents throughout the past year, providing them support and guidance as they learned.

Congratulations! We know these three ladies will be AMAZING nurses!! 👩‍⚕️🏥

Yesterday, we gathered with current and retired employees to reminisce about the past 30 years. We also honored a very special person who was instrumental in the planning, design, and startup of our facility, Jay Sveen, CRNA. His family was present to receive a plaque honoring Jay that will be displayed in our hospital.

We are proud to have served our community for the past 30 years and look forward to many more years to come! 🏥

Our hearts are full, thanks to Lincoln Surgical Hospital!!! Their staff members came together to raise funds & supplies for Dolly's Legacy and boy did they ever go above & beyond! They collected just shy of $2000 in funds & gift cards, and filled the SUV up to the roof with food, blankets & supplies! Two Dolly's alums who were adopted by a staff member even came to say hi, all dressed in holiday style

Meet Megan, Mackenzie and Maddie - these three are part of our New Grad Nurse Residency program. This program is designed for Nurses who graduate, and for the next year, continue to grow in knowledge and professionalism through monthly classes and forums. In addition to bedside orientation, these three attend classes that help them learn a vast array of healthcare knowledge and experience while stressing the importance of cohesiveness and teamwork. They have been awesome additions to our nursing team!

Not only do they help our patients begin their journey to recovery and return to their lifestyle through therapy, they also are an important part of Lincoln Surgical Hospital!

We turned our garage into a "spooky Gore-age" for our little Trunk or Treaters. Over 400 people came through to enjoy the fun. Thank you to everyone who participated. Congratulations to the winners!

At Lincoln Surgical Hospital, we encourage our staff to be involved in their communities and serve others who may be in need.

Bob is part of our Pharmacy team and he is President of Mercy Meals of Lincoln. They have recently partnered with Thrivent to coordinate a community event to help in the fight against hunger. This particular event will assemble and package 100,000 meals to be sent to Maui children and families affected by the recent wildfires.

After 17 years of taking care of our patients, Anne is ‘dancing’ her way into retirement!

Anne has cared for her patients working on our Same Day Surgery unit and shared her expertise in the PACU department. She plans on traveling, promoting a green planet and continuing her nursing skills with us PRN.

Thank you Annie for always being willing to help wherever needed. You had an immediate impact with your post op recovery care patients by making them feel so at ease.

June 14th is National Time Out Day! At Lincoln Surgical Hospital, we take our patient’s safety very seriously - this is why we celebrate Time Out Day! What is Time Out Day? It is the stage when every perioperative team can review the steps they do to keep every patient safe for their procedure. Time Out provides the opportunity for the OR team to perform the very last safety check before the procedure begins. It is an important step and offers the team the opportunity to communicate all information regarding their patient and the procedure.

Each year, our staff and physicians choose to support organizations who advocate for Families in Need within our community. It allows us to reach out and help assure that there will be warm clothing items, meals, groceries and other necessities available. This year we focused on Disability Rights Nebraska (advocating for those with disability and special needs) and Lulu's (providing over 250 families with meals and food over the holidays along with warm clothing items for the homeless they serve). These organizations were so appreciative of our assistance - THANK YOU to everyone who generously donated.
