Replaced a Navien tankless for this customer. The original install did not include the scale inhibitor, condensate neutralizer or expansion tank. We added these options to bring up to code as well as rigid piping direct from the heater to protect against the possibility of steam melting the PEX piping. Tip for hiring contractors - everyone may not agree with this, but I’ve seen multiple other ways performed and this is by far the safest!

First, let me say that I started my business, not only for income, but also to provide honest, quality work in my community that I love! I do not like to see people get ripped off or taken advantage of, and that is the absolute best way to get on my bad side And ruin your being attached with mine in Business. I have heard and seen several cases here lately, so I wanted to share a few things. I have learned over the last almost 20 years of being in construction.

#1 Make sure that if their trade requires a license that you are aware if they are in fact, licensed or not.
#2 Make sure they carry some type of liability insurance in case you’re home is damaged while they are working on it or after from the work that was performed.
#3 This is the absolute most important!! NEVER EVER EVER EVER pay before the work is completed!!!!!!!!
I am a new business owner that started out with not much Capital so I can say this in all assurance. If a contractor requires you to give them a large sum of money to purchase materials before the work is completed, be careful! This means they do not have a line of credit where they are either trusted at supply houses or cannot get a credit card to carry the supply cost until the job is complete. Set up payment plans based off of sections of the job to be completed if it is a large job that will take an extended period of time. If you ever question anything on the work that was performed, before you pay, contact a home inspector to come look at the work that was performed. Any contractor or tradesmen that is not willing to have their work inspected and approved is not worth their salt and you should steer clear from them.
In a small community like ours, it is hard for the honest Contractors because of the dishonest Contractors. A lot of people do not know who to trust so share your experiences, whether good or bad. If the contractor has a Facebook or Google page make sure to give them a good review , and follow their pages to help their business grow. Also make sure to share the bad experiences to let others know to be careful of those contractors.
