The 2024 Michigan Senior Olympics Soccer Championships are upon us! As in past years, the winners will hoist the coveted Harold Kirkwood Cup and be eligible to travel to the National Senior Games in Des Moines, Iowa in 2025!

We would really like to have four O50 teams and four O55 teams if possible. Let's try and make this the biggest MSO Soccer event yet!

AGES: Over 50 and Over 55 in both Mens and Womens divisions - You must already be 50 or 55 to compete.

DATE: August 24-25, 2024 - Must register by August 4th!

TIME: Schedule TBA

LOCATION: Founders Sports Park, 35500 W 8 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48335

FORMAT: 8 v 8, no offsides, no slide tackling.

Cost: $400/team

OTHER DETAILS: Guaranteed 2 games - 35 minute halves

It’s finally here! Make sure you stop by this weekend for the annual sale!

Congratulations to the Michigan United Kickers FC 50 who went undefeated in the Florida Classic, scoring 22 goals and conceding only nine. The Kickers defeated the TNT X-Men 50 5-1 in the Championship match!

This marks the third year in a row that an MUSL team has won the O50 division in the Florida Classic!

Well done, men!

Congrats to the Detroit Bullets 40 for advancing to the championship match in the Florida Classic! The Bullets fought SPFC Aztecs 40 to a draw through regulation and overtime, but fell short in the shootout. Great run men!

MUSL teams swept the top three positions in the 2023 Michigan Senior Olympics ! Canton Celtic FC repeated as Champions for the third straight year. Canton Rangers FC took home the silver and the Model Celtics brought back bronze. MUSL teams continue to dominate various tournaments locally and nationally! Well done to all of the competitors and good luck at the National Senior Games!

The Michigan Senior Olympics was a dream that Harold Kirkwood worked hard to bring to life in 2021. The MSO Committee recognized Harold's hard work by renaming the championship trophies the Harold Kirkwood Cup! Harold's family came to the 2022 Championship to present the trophy! It was an emotional day to say the least.

We need to ensure that this tournament takes place to remember Harold and everything he did to make this happen. Please consider putting a team in. You must register by August 30th!

Remember, all players must already be 50 or 55 in order to play.

This week's Honorary Captain is the family of the late Harold Kirkwood.

Kirkwood was an imporatnt figure in Michigan soccer- he was a coach, liscenced referee, team manager and a co-founder of the Michigan United Soccer League (MUSL), all over the span of 45 years.

We are honored to have his family in attendance as our honary captains and pay tribute to someone who did so much for the sport we all love in our State.
