RUN 🏃‍♀️ if your lender doesn't tell you this when you get for a mortgage!

Real estate investing 🏘 is the fastest and most guaranteed way to build wealth and create financial freedom. And one of the first steps in buying your first investment property is to get preapproved from a lender.

Now, imagine you submit your preapproval application and suddenly... you're getting inundated with phone calls. 🤳

Day and night. Night and day.

By people saying they're associated with the lender you used to get preapproved when they're not😲actually associated at all.

By people offering you unsolicited credit offers at higher👎interest rates.

By people who have your interest last in mind and their own interests first in mind. 😡

These are called "trigger leads" and if your lender doesn't warn you about them and offer you guidance for opting out of trigger leads and unsolicited offers then... you need a better lender!

So make 💯% sure your lender offers you the ability to opt out!

And if you need to bring it up to them before they offer it to you by the end of your preapproval meeting, 👉 do not submit your preapproval application with them. Simple as that.

The Y of Long Beach threw a wonderful donor appreciation party this week! 🎉 It was an honor (and so fun!) for The Millionaire Keys to be a part of it.

The numbers don't lie - life IS financially more difficult for our younger generations.

🏠 Gen Z is paying almost 100% more for homes.

🎒 The average price of tuition at a public university has increased by 310%

💸 Gen Z has 86% less purchasing power compared to baby boomers

Fast Company "Americans have seen wages increase by 80% since the 1970s. However, the average Consumer Price Index has increased by over 500%." 😱

This should be a critical concern for everyone.

The financial atmosphere affects all of our young adults (and is not something that should be written off due to any "political background").

These statistics should be of great concern to the most fervent capitalists & free market advocates as well as Americans on food stamps or who are first in family to go to college.

👉 This is why financial literacy is more important now than ever. 💵

By teaching our teens how to stay out of debt (before falling into the pitfalls of student loan debt and credit card debt, both of which have become "normal"), and learning to save and invest for the long term, we can help them get a leg up in a contentious financial environment that previous generations haven't lived through.

Lottery winners, champion athletes, and the most popular celebrities are exciting to mention when talking about money and wealth.

What we don't talk about is the reason why the majority of them end up broke, in debt, and (if you can believe it 😱) actually worse off than they started.

THE GOOD NEWS IS teens who learn how to be smart with their money end up with financial stability for LIFE! 🙌

In fact, the good book mentions this too!

Proverbs 6:6-8 📖 "Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter."

Be consistent.

Be wise.

Even starting with something as simple as a budget is a great first step in the right direction!

We made a game to teach teens financial literacy, and they sure seemed to like it! ... It also involves throwing alligator plushies at each other, so maybe that had something to do with it 🤣🐊

The best part though, is when these teens really start to "get it." It clicks how money can work FOR them, how important it is to be wise with it, and how that is the easiest way for them to become millionaires! 🙌

Message us if you want to help your teens learn financial literacy in a FUN way! Whether you're a school, business, or parent!

I'm not saying a nice car, vacations, or buying what you love are bad things!

But would you rather have a fancy car and have to work the rest of your life or a healthy retirement account that gives you the ability to retire early and decide what you want to do each day? 🤔

Would you rather have name brand clothes, purses, and watches, or would you rather stay out of credit card debt so your purchases don't end up costing 10x as much as you "bought" them for? 😳

These are decisions we need to be intentional about making when it comes to money habits and our personal finances! 👏👏👏

Maybe instead of asking each other “what do you do?” we should ask “what do you do with it?” Which one is more important? 🤔

It’s funny, when people talk about “finances” they get all up in arms about other people spending money on lattes. Or splurging on a sale. Or taking their family on an impromptu weekend trip.

But here’s a completely different way to look at it 👉 If you have a plan for the things that are important to you, then you can spend on whatever is within the boundaries of your own plan!

The important thing, is *having* that plan.

When you realize that, and implement it, the majority of “budgeting” messages that society throws at you won’t even apply to you (and you won’t feel guilty about spending on the things you love)! 🙌

You can be happy with what you spend on *and* a good steward of your money!

A verse from the bible that sticks out for good stewardship, is the parable Jesus tells in Matthew 25 about the master of some servants who goes on a long trip but leaves each servant with some money (“talents” is a type of currency that was used) and sees what they did with it when he comes back from his trip: 📖 “And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’”

It is God who has given us the money we have (and everything else we have too!), and therefore we must be good stewards over it. Not just to bring Him joy, but to live our best lives possible!

We have calendars on our phones to help keep us on track, apps galore, and the wonderful people in our lives to help us stay on time and accountable!
💰** But what about your money? *

We all know about “budgets” but research shows that they rarely work! So, what’s a responsible, financially conscious guy or gal to do? Make GOALS and create a PLAN to achieve those goals! When we see the potential of our controlled spending and consistent saving is, it’s much easier to stick to the plan instead of trying to follow some random advice about never spending money on lattes, or just trying to “not overspend” or “start saving a little bit.”
