Limitless Nutrition is a non-diet, intuitive eating private practice, focusing on athletes.
My post, one week later, because that’s how long it’s taken me to recover. 😅
FNCE feels like a four day sprint: it’s jam-packed with Nutrition Entrepreuenrs DPG events, attending FNCE sessions, checking out the expo, networking, and seeing old and new friends that I only get to see IRL once a year. Zoom just isn’t the same.
As Chair for NE DPG, I led our four-hour meeting on Saturday morning, emcee’d our Sunday evening Shine & Dine Networking event, spoke up at our DPG/MIG Chair breakfast on Monday, and welcomed new members to NE at Monday night’s DPG/MIG showcase.
Between delicious meals, networking events, morning runs, bouldering, continuing ed sessions, and sampling new foods and bevvies at expo, you can see why I needed the week to recover! But it was all worth it.
My heart is full, my belly is happy, and I’m hopeful about what comes next. Looking forward to Nashville in 2025!
(also, as some of you saw via stories, swipe for all the food-inspired looks I rocked at FNCE 🍅🍋🍇🍐🍓🍊🐟and my shirt!)
Happy RDN Day! Popping in to your feed, not stories (*gasp*) to remind you that Registered Dietitian Nutritionists must:
- complete the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
- do 1200 hours of supervised practice in a dietetic internship (often unpaid)
- pass a national board exam
- maintain at least 75 hours of continuing education every five years (and we usually do more than this!)
As a Chinese American, I’m part of the 5% of RDNs who identify as Asian, and we need to do more to within the profession. When health professionals look like you and understand your culture, health outcomes are improved.
As a weight-inclusive dietitian, I’m working to fight anti-fat bias by redefining health on my clients’ terms, not what the BMI chart says. (Check out ’s professional membership for CPEU opportunities)
As a sports nutritionist, I’m helping athletes improve their performance, both on and off the field, through fun and engaging strategies while not demonizing foods.
As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I connect with clients to find freedom with food, discover joy with movement and rest, and reevaluate how bodies exist in this world and what we get to do with ours.
Check out my stories for some reposts and shares of folks I admire who have a beautiful way with words!

Hi everyone! If we’ve met before, hi again! If we haven’t, I’d love to get to know you. I always like an intro post, or re-intro post, so here’s mine through emojis. And I’d love to see your emoji and corresponding fun fact!
✌️I was first introduced to nutrition as a career when I interned with a USC sports dietitian and thought it was SO cool to work with athletes. I switched my major from Biomedical Engineering to Human Biology with a Nutrition and Metabolism emphasis (yep, still a mouthful) and never looked back.
🐉 I went on to get my Masters in Human Nutrition at Drexel University, where I was surrounded with folks who wanted to become registered dietitians and I loved it. Philly will always have a special place in my heart.
📚I loved to read as a kid, and always did the summer library reading challenges that earned a burger at In-N-Out! Now I’m part of two book clubs (one with my family and one with friends from back home) to help keep me on track so I take the time to read for fun.
🐔I was born in the Year of the Rooster. I grew up speaking Cantonese as my first language, but once I got to kindergarten, I was speaking only English trying my hardest to get rid of my accent. Now, I try to practice Cantonese with my parents, but it’s more of a broken Cantonese/English. I give compassion to my younger self for wanting to fit in and assimilate.
🍚My nutrition philosophy has evolved over time, and I know it’ll continue to keep changing. I used to think nutrition meant you could prevent everything disease-related (hence, registered dietitian vs. going med school route), and that you were "holier than thou if you valued health above all else". But as I learn more from those around me who have been doing the work on topics such as social determinants of health, diet culture, healthism, weight-centric care vs weight-inclusive care, ableism, fatphobia, body autonomy, to name a few, I realize the harm that I’ve done. Now that I know better (and keep learning every day!), I am working to do better. I’m not the expert on your body, you are.
Channeling for some one-liners to describe the No Limits Coaching Group 🛼
If you’re curious about any of this, let’s chat! I’ve got my calendar open for you.

This week was our wrap-up session for the No Limits Support Group (had to photoshop our missing member in 😂). Starting in January, I felt honored to lead and guide this group through a non-diet approach to health and wellness these past few months.
We explored what diet culture is, and how it shows up (read: everywhere). We discussed some of the principles of intuitive eating, learning about giving ourselves unconditional permission to eat and how to increase awareness with our eating. And we began the convo on body image (though we barely scratched the surface, more to come on this later). Lastly, we always ended with tangible sports nutrition tips that could be applied from week to week.
It’s been a beautiful journey, and I’m proud of everyone’s ability to step up and be vulnerable, sharing stories and experiences from their lives to bring to the group.
As one participant shared: “It is literally nutrition education, a support group, and food therapy, all wrapped into one.”
We’ll be kicking off Cohort #2 in two weeks: starting Tuesday, April 11th. We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm, held in-person at Amp Association in Santa Monica. Participants have access to an exclusive Facebook group and availability to me via email for support in-between sessions.
You can find out more at the link in my bio, or DM me if you have any questions!
🚨🚨webinar in one week!! 🚨🚨
Whether you've been working out for a while or you're new to the intentional movement, you've probably heard trainers emphasize how the other 23 hours of your day are as important (if not more so) than your one hour at the gym.
We're often told that "you have to eat less to see progress" and that couldn't be further from the truth.
Join me for a webinar on why you should be eating more. It'll be a fun and interactive webinar where you will leave with tangible takeaways that you can start applying immediately.
It'll be held virtually over Zoom, Thursday, March 23rd at 6:00 pm. Register at https://limitlessnutrition.as.me/webinar (link in bio as well!). And a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the GoFundMe for UCLA's Infantile Spasms Research: https://gofund.me/4bf0ee11. Intuitive eating is just the beginning. I’m excited to introduce this with tangible sports nutrition tips that you can apply right away.
Come join me for the webinar on March 23rd, at 6 pm PT. Link in bio to register!
Bringing my favorite topic back as a webinar!

Whether you’re in high school or college athletics, or love to run marathons or do Crossfit, this webinar is for you. If you’re curious about sports nutrition and intuitive eating, join me for a fun and interactive webinar about what a healthy relationship with food means. We’ll touch on each principle of intuitive eating and how we can support athletic goals while incorporating IE principles along the way.

Can’t wait to see you in two weeks!
How’s this for a 2023 goal?
☠️to diet culture
When we think about goals, what comes to mind for you?
Instead of restricting, how about adding more in?
Rather than run for the calorie burn, maybe chase a goal of running one mile without stopping?
Instead of focusing on shrinking your body, perhaps work to be in a better relationship with it?
There are so many ways we can use the energy of the new year, a new month, a new week, a new day. Let’s use them for good.
If you’re ready to make some different goals for 2023 than years past, come join me and others like you who want to change the narrative. Folks who are embracing a transformative way of thinking with food, body, and movement.
The No Limits Support Group kicks off in ONE week, and I’d love for you to join us. Fill out the interest form in the link in my bio, and I’ll send you the registration link and our exclusive members-only FB group. We’ll meet in-person on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm. Location at .
I’m tired of the diets that promise to fix everything. I’m tired of the targeted ads that say “they’re not a diet” but they really are. The new year is filled with diets and “new year, new me” mentality. If you’re tired of this messaging, I invite you to join me in fighting back against this in community with others.
It’s exciting to reveal what has been happening behind the scenes at Limitless Nutrition to create this space for you, and I am proud to partner with (which also happens to be my home gym) to offer a nutrition support group that embraces Intuitive Eating. IE is a non-diet approach to health and wellness, and we’ll discuss how to apply IE in our work, workouts, and relationships — both with ourselves and with others.
We’ll meet twice per month, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 7:30 pm. There will be a members-only Facebook group as well as email availability with me for support in-between sessions. As this is the first time this is being offered in-person, there is a founders’ deal of $75 (Amp members) or $90 (non-Amp members) per month with a 3-month commitment. You can express interest at the link in my bio.
Stay tuned for more details about what’s to come!
Worried about the holidays and what that means with food and movement?
Whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, or NYE, there can be some anxiety around this time of year!
Join me for a pre-holiday check-in complete with cookies and festive drinks next Tuesday, Dec. 13th at 7:30 pm.
We'll discuss:
- loved ones' comments about our food choices or bodies and how to respond
- routine disruptment and what to do about it
- the temptation of post-holiday dieting and how to avoid it
We had a great group of Amp members and non-members join for the November nutrition chat, and I'm looking forward to more continued conversations. You can sign up at the link in my bio!
This month marks the✌️year anniversary of Limitless Nutrition!!!
My private practice has officially been in business for two years, so I’m taking a moment to share how proud I am.
I went on many walks with my family this past week and we caught up on life, love, and work. They had to remind me to reflect on how far I’ve brought my business: highlighting the awesome things I’ve accomplished, and the exciting things to come.
Am I writing this with tears in my eyes? A little bit. Because I don’t often celebrate my work or appreciate how I get to do what I love: helping folks create peaceful relationships with food, body, and movement. No diets. No shame. No limits.
It’s really scary to put yourself out there. Who am I to have my own business? And help people in this way? Imposter syndrome reared its ugly head many times as a small business owner who has no formal training in running a business. A lot of lessons were learned, and I know there will be many more in the future.
But I’m figuring it out. I’m making decisions. I’m making mistakes. I’m fixing those mistakes. I’m investing in me and my business by learning from others. I’m surrounding myself with other RDNs and private practice business owners who want the same things: creating a world where diet culture ceases to exist, where we no longer have to do this kind of work.
To my past, present, and future clients, I am grateful for you. Thank you for challenging me to be a better dietitian, a better business owner, a better person.
Year 3, let’s go!!!
Leah shared this photo from her iPhotos Memories, saying she loves the awesome reminders of this moment from Sept 2018:
- this is a little over one year after she officially became a Registered Dietitian
- she already knew then that quitting carbs was never a good idea, even before discovering intuitive eating and becoming a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor
- she loved and still loves all food puns
- this was at Grand Central Market, where Leah and her sister shared many foods from different vendors
- and last but not least, she used to rock some pink hair👩🏼🎤
Have you been to Grand Central Market in LA? Some of Leah’s other favorite markets: Reading Terminal Market in Philly and Chelsea Market in NYC.
Have an eggcellent weekend, everyone!
This rebrand has been a long time coming. Early this year, I began to realize that I wanted to bring “Leah Tsui Nutrition” to be something more than just my name. I wanted to create a company that can evolve with what’s needed, both from the client and the CEO perspectives.
The desire to set my company apart from others, while still maintaining a strong personal touch as the founder, led me to think of words that encompass where I want to bring the company. Keeping athletes as my primary focus, while tying in intuitive eating for everyone, I knew the new name would need to encapsulate that.
So I started with L and T, my initials, and searched for words that had these letters in them. Results gave me a plethora of words (like plethora, but that didn’t quite hit it 😉), and then I found it. I found the word that I thought would encapsulate the company, the services, and most importantly, the clients.
I tested it out, said it aloud, tried it with my family and close friends, and everyone agreed, it sounded good. Then I shared it with a few clients (past and current) to see what they thought. And they loved it. That’s when I knew this was the right move. Thus, Limitless Nutrition was born.
It’s been a long and thought-provoking journey to get here. I hired a website + brand designer, a copywriter, and a logo designer (so much gratitude to Taylor Moser , Brian Chavez, and Jen Luistro ). Thank you for coming together and helping me shape this vision into a reality. Your work has made Limitless Nutrition’s mission and values shine through.
To Carolyne (.mac), thank you for your expertise and guidance throughout this process. To Jessica, , thank you for testing (and re-testing) the site with your UX and product designer brain.
And to my clients: past, present, and future, thank you for trusting me. This rebrand is for you.
I’ve been a little MIA on IG posts lately, and while I want to say I’ll be back, the world is heavy, and sometimes I wonder if I’m doing enough. I want to make sure my posts are helpful for YOU as my followers!
When sad, horrible things happen, we all respond in different ways (like grief, avoidance, anger, action) and it reminds me of my mission because people start to think they have no control over their lives. And these are people who need to hear how they don’t need to try gaining back control by tracking every calorie taken in, every calorie burned, or how many steps they took.
And if you live in a body that isn’t deemed socially acceptable (fat, POC, female, trans), where you don’t have access to a safe home, school, workplace, or healthcare system, we can’t even begin to do the work towards a healthy relationship with food.
I want to help create a world that works against fatphobia and weight stigmatization (both of which have racist and sexist origins), orthorexic thoughts, and diet culture. It also means taking in and learning what I can, and identifying where I fall short in my knowledge. As Maya Angelou said, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
Part of that learning (and why I’ve not been on as much social media) is that I’m proud to announce: I am officially a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor! Since I started my private practice in 2020, I’ve been integrating intuitive eating and sports nutrition, and it’s about d*mn time that we made things official. I’m grateful to the founders of intuitive eating, Elyse Resch and Evelyn Tribole, Theresa Kinsella for group supervision, and .dorfman.nutrition for doing the training with me!
It doesn’t stop here. There’s still much to learn regarding weight-inclusive care, body image, disordered eating, and eating disorders. And I’m excited to take what I learn and share it with you all. Thank you for being a part of this journey.

Every few months, I get to head to and cook with the students!
I love giving back to my local community as part of my business, and volunteering with .inform.grow grants me this opportunity.
We talk about nutrition, favorite foods, what they like to cook, if they’re comfortable in the kitchen, knife skills, math skills, and my favorite “mise en place”.
These young men have never heard of intuitive eating before, and we have fun discussing some IE concepts while we cook. Talking about food fears, debunking food myths, and incorporating our favorite familial, cultural foods into our daily intake.
What are some of your favorite cultural foods that diet culture has deemed “unhealthy”?
Let’s talk about pre-workout fuel for endurance athletes!
Fueling before exercise is important for performance and decreases the risk of dehydration, fatigue, and the depletion of glycogen stores.
Tolerance of foods and timing prior to exercise will vary from person to person.
1. For workouts lasting 60-90 minutes, choose a carbohydrate-heavy snack. (ex. fruit smoothie, toast)
2. For workouts lasting longer than 90 minutes, add some protein to those carbohydrates for sustained energy. (ex. nuts and chia seeds to oatmeal)
Some food ideas: a few crackers, toast, juice, cereal, oatmeal. Remember, your needs and wants will vary from someone next to you, so experimenting during practice is key!
I offer more specific guidance to my clients, who want to know about timing, how much, and how often. Book a discovery call today to see how we can work together!
So how much water do you REALLY need before, during, and after training?
Adequate hydration decreases fatigue and improves endurance in high intensity training sessions. It can also provide liquid carbohydrates when tolerance of food is low.
Fluid before exercise: 10-20 oz a few hours before.
Fluid during exercise: drink as desired, though more checking in may be needed. .4-.8L per hour is average. Sports drinks are easy and add electrolytes + carbs.
Fluid after exercise: replace 150% of weight loss via sweat. 1.5L/kg after exercise. Sipping fluids over time maximizes fluid retention vs. drinking large amounts in one sitting.
Feeling like you need some extra 😴this week? 🙋🏻♀️SAME.
I have felt exhausted from last week’s run (if you peeped my stories from the weekend). I’ll be sure to share about the experience in a later post!
Adequate sleep quantity and quality is crucial to performance besides fueling.
Getting enough sleep will help muscle recovery and soreness, allowing you to get back out there at peak performance!
Sleep deprivation leads to a decrease in leptin, which is the hormone for curb in appetite, and an increase in ghrelin, the hormone that increases appetite.
A lack of sleep may lead you to feel more hungry than usual or experience cravings. And that’s okay! Knowing the physiological connection between sleep and hunger/fullness cues can be helpful information.
Have you noticed any changes for yourself when sleep deprived? What’s your biggest indicator?
HAPPY RD DAY!!!!!
I am proud to be an anti-diet dietitian because everybody deserves a healthy relationship with food and body.
I am so grateful to all of you being here, following in my corner of the social media universe. To all of my fellow RDs and colleagues who have helped me grow and get to where I am today, thank you so so much.
I tagged some badass RDs in my post, go follow them so you can curate your feed to see even more posts on intuitive eating, movement for joy, and body neutrality.
(Also, shoutout to for my new headshots, more coming soon!)
🍩
Afternoon slump got you down? Maybe we need to take a look at your lunch.
I like to talk about macros, and here’s what I mean by them: Make sure you’ve got a mix of protein, carbohydrate, and fat on your plate, and you’ll be able to make it through the rest of your day without hitting that 3 pm wall.
Protein examples in photos: turkey, chicken, beef, chickpeas, yogurt, cheese, hummus
Carbohydrate examples in photos: tortilla, spinach, tomato, onion, mushrooms, bell peppers, noodles, carrots, broccoli, water chestnuts, snow peas, sweet potato, crackers, fruit
Fat examples in photos: hummus, avocado, cheese, olive oil, avocado oil, yogurt, ground meat
As you can see, several of these will overlap amongst the macronutrients, because many of our foods contain energy from several sources. Lunch doesn’t have to be complicated!
What are some of your favorite lunch ideas?
And if you’re looking for some extra support around your lunch break, early bird registration ends TOMORROW for “Why Am I Eating This?”! We will talk about gentle nutrition, and what that means for you when it comes to intuitive eating. How planning for lunch can help you towards achieving authentic health.

Stage 1 of intuitive eating: hitting diet bottom. You have tried diet after diet and are left feeling discouraged and frustrated. You begin to lose trust in your body, its needs, and its cues. This is your first sign to turn to intuitive eating to heal your relationship with food and your body.
If you find that this is you, that you’ve tried everything and are feeling lost, you’re not alone.
If you’re wanting support and guidance that comes from a registered dietitian nutritionist and a licensed marriage and family therapist, sign up at the link in my bio for “Why Am I Eating This?”.
It’s our 8-week group program, where we plan to have a small, intimate group of folks who are seeking out a healthy relationship with food and body.
Because you are not alone in diets failing you. And hearing others share their stories and journeys can help you start your own path towards intuitive eating.
