SERIE UP 2000

B&B Italia presents the Serie Up 2000 designed in 1969, by Gaetano Pesce, right from the onset the Up series has been one of the most outstanding expressions of design with its expressive shapes upholstered with elastic fabric. A spherical ottoman tied to the armchair contrasts the image of comfort and convenience with a more figurative one of a woman with a ball and chain tied to her foot. Gaetano Pesce described the project as follows: “At that time, I was seeking to tell a personal story about my concept of women: I believe that women have always unwittingly been their own jailer. This is why I decided to give this armchair the shape of a woman with a ball and chain, reflecting the traditional image of a prisoner.”

AURA

Baxter presents the Aura, designed by Hannes Peer, Aura is a modular leather sofa that is instantly recognisable for its minimalist elegance, echoing the luminous glamour of Californian villas. The extra-large seat and backrest cushions rest on a solid, slightly raised base, which also serves as a table top. These modular elements enable you to create ever new configurations, customising the model to suit your needs.

THE COMMITTEE CHAIR

The Commit­tee Chair becomes part of the Hommage à Pierre Jean­neret tribute collec­tion for Cassina. It was initially designed in the 1950s to furnish the spaces of grand polit­i­cal and public build­ings in the Indian city of Chandi­garh, the capital of Punjab. The design features restrained, elegant lines and is recog­niz­able by the iconic upside-down V‑shaped lateral supports. For a more versa­tile fit in the home and dining rooms, the Commit­tee Chair is avail­able in a new inter­pre­ta­tion without armrests and its orig­i­nal version with armrests.

Dambo doesn’t originate as a normal product but as a collection of creatures. Dambo is many different places, spaces that, when combined, become sofas; when disarranged, they remain islands. The new campaign aims to tell a story, and every time we tell stories, we adjust the narrative voice; sometimes it’s more intense, other times lighter, with an echo of resonance. TOBI-ISHI OUTDOOR

Tobi-Ishi Outdoor is the outdoor version of the iconic Zen-inspired indoor table of the same name. The name itself is a reference to the polished stones (tobi-ishi) used ornamentally in traditional Japanese gardens. The overhang of the top and the vertical trapezoidal bases set at right angles generate an essential sculptural figure that appears to change shape depending on the point of observation. In the outdoor version, Tobi-Ishi is made of cement in four different colours.
