We salute our hardworking employees this . Meet Fernando, Damien and Valente from our Construction Management Team - our very own . Starting today and every week through the end of the year, we'll be shining the spotlight on some of the 1,900+ employees who help ensure the reliability and quality of 's water supplies.
Construction Inspectors Fernando, Damien and Valente worked on the Etiwanda Pipeline North Relining – Stage 3 project, which removed and replaced about 2.5 miles of existing cement mortar lining with a corrosion-free lining that will last for years.
The pipeline, which went into service in 1993, delivers untreated water from Northern California through the East Branch of the State Water Project that eventually is sent to Metropolitan’s F.E. Weymouth Water Treatment Plant in La Verne. The pipeline runs through the cities of Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga.
Construction Management oversees the project's schedule and cost, while performing quality assurance inspection and monitoring safety and environmental compliance during construction. The pipeline returned to service two months ahead of schedule.
