Actor Danny Masterson was found guilty of two counts of r**e yesterday in a retrial, months after a jury couldn’t come to a unanimous decision on any of the three criminal r**e charges. After the verdict was announced, I told Insider, “This conviction is remarkable because prosecutors turned around a case that, in the last trial, ended with a hung jury that was leaning toward an acquittal.”

I also told The Hollywood Reporter, “Jurors sometimes have a difficult time when an alleged r**e involves a dating relationship, because they have trouble figuring out how s*x can be consensual in one instance but r**e in another instance.”

This time around, “The judge allowed prosecutors to make some changes in how they presented the case, and it seems that carried the day,” I told The Wrap. “When prosecutors can say the victims were drugged, that allows the jurors to wrap their heads around what changed to make the s*x suddenly not consensual.”

Lori Vallow's trial has concluded, with an Idaho jury unanimously finding her guilty of murdering her two children and conspiring to murder Chad Daybell's first wife. Chad, who is also accused of these crimes, awaits his own trial.
