Chabad Pico-Bais Bezalel
Now Bais Bezalel is one of the largest most active Chabad shuls in Los Angeles.
In response to a call by the Lubavitcher Rebbe in 1977 to open new places of davening and learning in the spirit of Chabad Chassidus, Bais Bezalel began 34 years ago on Pico Boulevard in a 2nd floor office complex near Beverly Drive.
I wanted to share a heartwarming story that happened the Shabbat before last.
While waiting for the light to change near Walgreens on Pico and Robertson, I struck up a conversation with a fellow in the same situation. I asked him, "What's your 'waiting for the light to change' Torah thought?" Caught by surprise, he didn't have one, so I shared mine with him.
"Which shul do you go to?"
When I told him I go to Chabad Pico-Bais Bezalel , he remarked that he had once spoken to the Rabbi there. Intrigued, I told him that I was the Rabbi. He said, "you have no idea how much you changed my life", his face actually turned red. He had called me because my number was on the door of the shul and he needed a Rabbi.
"I was married to a non-Jewish woman, whose Conservative conversion I knew was dubious & not kosher."
Seeking guidance, he asked, "What should I do?"
To cut a long story short, he immediately moved to the neighborhood and is now on the brink of marrying a Jewish woman. I said, 'when you start a mitzvah, your supposed to finish it', and I offered to study the laws of family purity and marriage with him.
He hugged me and tears welled up in his eyes, "I would like that."
It really got me thinking, as we are all expecting to see the coming of Moshiach, when Hashem will change the red light of the exile to the green light of Geulah, one good thought word or action can open that door.
Never underestimate the impact you can have.

Dear Friends,
From time to time, everyone wonders if their actions truly make a difference. Are our personal choices, even the little ones, significant? As technology progresses and world events unfold, I have come to realize that the smallest things do matter. Something as simple as using a capital letter instead of lowercase can prevent a computer from unlocking. Accidentally pressing "reply all" can have a massive impact.
As Jews, we firmly believe that every action and choice holds spiritual significance.
Our prayers and Shabbat candles have the power to protect and uplift our brothers and sisters in the land of Israel. As women, we connect deeply with this idea. We often witness how our moods and attitudes can shift the entire atmosphere around us.
We understand that even a few words can change someone's day or even their life.
What we do matters.
Our actions make a tremendous difference.
In one moment, the world can be forever changed.
I invite you to embark on a journey of discovery as we explore the stories of seven biblical women who used one moment to change everything. In the upcoming Rosh Chodesh Society course titled "One WOW Moment," we will highlight seven pivotal moments in history where individuals faced a choice that made all the difference. As Jewish women, we too can find the strength, clarity, and inspiration to change our world.
I urge you to join us in this transformative experience. May the merit of our Torah learning protect every IDF soldier, every hostage, and every man, woman, and child in Israel during this critical time.
The class begins next Monday, November 13th

We Know What is Happening. Now, We MUST Step Up and Step In. Join Our United Front in Supporting Every Front.
Our hearts are broken, our minds stunned, our bodies numb. The carnage, the horror, the terror.
But we dare not remain idle. The needs of our brothers and sisters are many and they are great.
The devastated families of terror victims and of hostages need our support.
The injured and wounded need medical care as medical facilities are overwhelmed.
Our chayalim need our assistance and encouragement as they fight for our Nation.
The communities of Southern Israel who are locked indoors and under attack need our aid.
They need us to help them, to support them, to inspire them during this time of crisis and uncertainty.
We know the enormity of what is happening in Israel. We understand the gravity of this crisis. And we must respond. We must cry. We must pray. We must share in their pain, their grief, their suffering. And now, must step up and step in and help In Every Way, On Every Front.
Throughout the world, in every circumstance and in every location, Chabad steps up and is there for every Jew. And in this time of crisis and challenge, Chabad’s mission is to be there for every Jew in Eretz Yisrael.
To that end, Chabad Israel has created a United Front to assist in every way and on every front. Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually.
Our fellow Jews need food. They need medical care. They need encouragement. They need housing. They need comforting.
Join the campaign. Donate generously.
With a United Front, we will offer help and healing. With a United Front, we will bring solace and comfort. With a United Front, we will merit Hashem’s help and victory.
