Had a great time in the other day during our Wellness Garden Workshop. Spent the morning meditating and learned how to make herbal teas and bath salts in the garden.

Later we had a wonderful hands-on healthy cooking lesson led by Chef Sandi Lampert, MS, CCE and MMC's Culinary Interns.

In the afternoon, we heard a great lecture titled, "Spirituality and Wellness, Is there a Relationship?" by Dr. Jerry Kornfeld, who discussed the rapidly expanding subject spirituality plays in medicine.

Enjoyed yoga, gardening, learned how to stay healthy and make healthy food while seeing friends!

LIVING TO 100 WITH QUALITY
Dr. Jerry Kornfeld, M.D., FAAFP

- Free and open to the public -

Thursday, June 27th, 2019 10:00am - 11:30am
"Aging is INEVATABLE...... Coping with it is the Challenge"
Our culture tells us that we are old at 65. That may have been true in your Grand Parents days but in 2019 our life span is increasing rapidly and the 80 year old today is equivalent to the 55-60 year old of previous generations. Join Dr. Jerry as de-bunks the myth that the numbers after your name should control your activities and destiny. He will show you that it is your physical and mental condition, not the numbers that should control that.

Thursday, July 25th, 2019 10:00am - 11:30am
"You Have the Power"
What role do your thoughts and spirituality have on your health? Is there a mind/body connection or do they function as separate systems? You will learn about the molecules of emotion, what they are and what effect they have on the immune system and your health. Also, the latest thinking about your life style, your genes and your cells will be discussed.

Thursday, August 29th, 2019 10:00am - 11:30am
"Your 100 Year Heart"
Keeping your heart alive for 100 years is the subject of Dr. Kornfeld’s book. We are experiencing an epidemic of a self-inflicted disease. Dr. Kornfeld examines how your life style, attitude and other factors can be changed so as to decrease your chances of becoming a victim of heart disease.

Thursday, September 26th, 2019 10:00am - 11:30am
"Vitamins, Supplements, Red wine and Other Anti-Oxidants"
What are they? Why are they important? Are they hype or do they really work? Dr. Kornfeld will also look at their role in aging and cancer. This is an evidence based discussion of their role and benefits in keeping you healthy.

Thursday, October 31st, 2019 10:00am - 11:30am
"Medicine in 2025...What the Future has in Store"
Join Dr. Jerry for this exciting talk as he searches his crystal ball for a look at the future of medicine. He will explore gene therapy, regenerative therapy and cloning. He will also answer your questions about stem cells replacement part stores and how your computer and its apps will replace doctor visits. Most important what is going on in the world of LONGEVITY.

ROSE DIAMOND
SEPTEMBER 1, 1918 - FEBRUARY 9, 2019

Born September 1, 1918 in New York City, our beloved Rose passed away February 9, 2019 in West Hills, California at 100.

Rose once joked, "Everyone's a producer here in Los Angeles. I'm a producer, too. I produced two wonderful sons."

Rose earned the title of producer from her loving family who treated the family matriarch as a celebrity with lots of love, respect and admiration. Rose developed a large and loving fan base from coast-to-coast, including an international following of many friends. As a loving mother, Rose had the ability to recognize in her children their talents and encourage them in the roles they were to play in their lives.

Over the years, Rose was frequently seen dancing with her beloved husband Kieve at Roseland and the Palladium in New York. Kieve played the role of Fred Astaire and Rose as Ginger Rogers. Both having the same smooth movements and great love for dancing.

Rose passed away from a stroke. Her loving family were at her bedside serenading her with many songs of love that she enjoyed so much over the years. As her son, Neil put it, "We wept when it was all done. For being done too soon."

Rose is survived by her sons, Harvey and Neil and their wives, Alice and Katie, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Rose is predeceased by her loving husband Kieve and her cherished granddaughter Jennifer Diamond.

If you'd like to make a donation in Rose's memory, please consider her favorite charity, the Jennifer Diamond Cancer Foundation, which provides free support programs to people dealing with cancer.

DONATIONS CAN BE MADE IN MEMORY OF ROSE DIAMOND, WHO LIVED A BEAUTIFUL LIFE OF A HUNDRED YEARS.

Dear Friends of the Jennifer Diamond Cancer Foundation,

From our heart to yours, we wish you all the best for 2017!

For the past six years, our Cancer Support Center has been that helpful hand, providing free services and education to the community and hope for all that come through our doors.

We want to thank you for the personal donations that you have made to us in the past. The services we provide are only available because of your donations. Those funds have been vital to the more than five-hundred families, helping people with cancer find strength.

We are incredibly proud of our Cancer Support Center and want it to remain available to anyone who needs it. It is a place where cancer patients can get away from the stress of their illness and rejuvenate themselves.

The programs and services we provide educate, empower and help heal hundreds of people with cancer, helping them to lead a better quality of life and increasing their chance of survival.

But now, we need your help. Please help us to continue to provide all of the wonderful services we provide to the community. You can also help by simply forwarding this email to your friends and family by clicking below.

For the past six years, our Cancer Support Center has been that helpful hand, providing free services and education to the community and hope for all that come through our doors.

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP. TODAY. PLEASE.

Our fundraising efforts have been incredibly challenging this year.

We need your help to continue providing the free cancer support programs that we offer and keep our doors open.

As a non-profit public charity, we are not funded by any one person. Nor is there any one person able to support us financially should we come upon hard times.

This year, we have not been able to raise all of the funds for the services we want to offer, much less provide those services on nights and weekends.

We want to thank you for the personal donations that you may have made to us in the past. The programs we provide are only available because of your donations. Those funds have been vital to the more than five-hundred families in the surrounding communities, helping people with cancer find strength.

Please.
