🚨 New billboards have just been unveiled near the Inglewood Oil Field, delivering a powerful message about the dangers of neighborhood oil drilling in South L.A. These billboards are more than just words—they represent our community's ongoing struggle against the toxic impacts of drilling near our homes, schools, and churches. From highlighting the victory that stopped new oil wells from being drilled to raising awareness about the severe health risks like lung damage and worsened birth outcomes, these messages call us to action.

This campaign, led by Black Women for Wellness and STAND–L.A., is about mobilizing our community to continue the fight until all existing oil wells are shut down. It’s a reminder that our health, our families, and our future are worth fighting for.

"We are thrilled to launch this campaign at such a pivotal moment," says Tianna Shaw Wakeman, Environmental Justice Program Manager at BWW. "Through STAND–L.A. and Black Women for Wellness, our communities have fought hard to protect our neighborhoods from the dangers of toxic oil drilling locally and at the state level. This campaign showcases the strength and determination we have to keep pushing toward environmental justice for all.”

Let’s keep this momentum going—residents and supporters are encouraged to join the movement by engaging with the billboards, participating in upcoming events, and spreading the message through social media. Together, we can ensure a healthier, safer future for South Los Angeles.
