Abstracts - CHIPTS - Center for HIV Identification, Prevention and Treatment Services 08/08/2024

Submission and registration are now open for the CHIPTS 2025 HIV Next Generation Conference on Friday, January 31, 2025. The conference is free to attend and will be held in-person at The California Endowment - 1000 Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

The goal of this conference is to support the next generation of HIV researchers, HIV prevention and treatment practitioners, and service providers dedicated to ending to the HIV/AIDS epidemic through networking and exchanging visions for future priorities.

We welcome participation from all Southern California, national and global stakeholders and partners working to advance HIV prevention and treatment programs, policies, education, and research. The intended audience are CBO, A*O, clinic and public health department staff, community, patient and client advocates, students and trainees, and early-stage to established investigators.

This week-long residential camp will house the youth on the college campus of California State University, Northridge and will focus on leadership skills, introducing the youth to various career paths, and fostering a supportive environment to openly discuss HIV/AIDS.

HHS Accepting Nominations for CDC/HRSA Advisory Committee

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is currently accepting nominations for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Advisory Committee on HIV, Viral Hepatitis and STD Prevention and Treatment (CHAC) 2025 nomination cycle. The CHAC consists of 18 experts in fields associated with public health; epidemiology; laboratory practice; immunology; infectious diseases; substance use disorder; behavioral science; health education; healthcare delivery; state health programs; clinical care; preventive health; medical education; health services and clinical research; health equity; and healthcare financing, who are selected by the Secretary of HHS. Nominations for membership on the CHAC must be received no later than October 1.

The meeting will be a hybrid meeting which can be viewed online at www.hhs.gov/live or in person at the DoubleTree Crystal City Hotel at 300 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, Virginia. If you plan to attend in-person, please email [email protected] by COB Tuesday, May 28 to pre-register.
