Be the person you needed when you were younger. Did you know everyone has an inner child? An inner child is a window into your unconscious mind. It’s the You that has all those repressed memories and feelings from your childhood that resurface from time to time. Acknowledging and connecting with this part of yourself is vital in self-discovery. Start by simply being present and in tune with yourself. Sit with the inner child. Avoid judging your thoughts, but instead observe them objectively and thank them for existing. Allow them to have their space. Your inner child repressed things because it was afraid to take up space. It’s time to express that pain. It’s time to reclaim your childhood. It’s time to start again. Please call (424)261-9444 to work with a therapist to heal your inner child.

We often overlook the many benefits to being present. Being present will help you avoid making decisions that you may later regret, it helps reduce stress, help us let go of fear and stay safe. We can do so by simply placing our attention on our breath and feeling it go in and out slowly. To continue your healing journey with a therapist at Hillside Wellness Center call (424)261-9444

We’re here to clear some myths about grief! The first myth is that everyone's grieving process looks the same. Secondly, there is a right way to grieve or there is a time limit to grieving. The next myth is we can only grieve the dead. And lastly, if we ignore grief, it will go away. These myths have circled society for too long. It is important to know that grief is not a linear process. Little by little we let go of loss, but never of love.

Everyone argues, but not everyone argues constructively. A tennis match of criticisms and blame is exhausting and hard to resolve. This approach polarizes the positions of each side and sets up a battle. If you recognise that this is happening, it’s time to disengage. Consider using the tips above next time you find yourself in an argument you are not necessarily looking to win, but rather find a compromise or solution together. Hillside is here to help. Call (424)261-9444 to speak with a therapist.

However, in many cases, the cause of dementia is unknown and cannot be treated. If you or someone you love is looking for support please call (424)261-9444 to speak with a therapist.
Have you ever heard these myths about OCD? Maybe that as all neat freaks have OCD, or that OCD is only about cleanliness. That is part of the confusion. If you have obsessive compulsive disorder, being labeled as a “neat freak” does not feel within your control, but rather a debilitating anxiety. If you are looking to speak with a therapist and learn more about OCD, please call (424)261-9444
