We had a successful Build-A-Thon in collaboration with Cal State LA .gem and Shriners Children’s Hospital to build toddler mobility trainers for those in need! Wheelchairs are not often designed with children and toddlers in mind. So, thank you to all our hardworking students and organizers for supporting this cause! 🤍

Cal State LA ECST Dr. Kwan, Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department, and his students will use this equipment to more accurately represent in-situ boundary and loading conditions during an earthquake as a constant specimen height can be maintained while performing dynamic shear loading in any direction on the x-y plane. They will also be able to run tests using actual earthquake data and evaluate the liquefaction potential of their specimens under various conditions.
