After twelve weeks of work with the characters of the commedia dell’arte, the four fundamental states of emotion (happiness, sadness, fear, and anger), and the practices of ensemble theater, we are so proud of our youth participants.

We are excited to announce our upcoming FREE Fall After School Program for interested CCUSD 4th & 5th students! All interested parents and students need to APPLY BY Wednesday, September 4th to be considered.

We will ANNOUNCE THE ROSTER Friday, September 6th and the program will START Wednesday, September 11th.

We’re serving all 5 elementary schools and want to make it as equitable as possible for all schools to participate. So, it will be a lottery-like system as we select students for the program. Space is limited to 20 students.

These classes provide a safe space for young artists to exercise their imaginations and express themselves creatively. Participants will engage in The Actors’ Gang signature style of theater and explore Commedia dell’Arte characters. In addition to developing confidence through fun theater & improv games in each class, participants create, rehearse, and perform an original theater piece alongside our teaching artists.

Our teen camp kicked off at the Kirk Douglas this week. We have been having the best time immersing in theater together.

Thanks to our friends at -recidivism coalition and for the partnership on a special screening and panel for this beautiful film “Sing Sing” tonight 7pm at The Grove. Looking forward to celebrating all of the valuable work that’s being created within the system! Such an accurate representation of the power of arts in the process of healing.
