As a student at USC, I often felt lost while navigating the pre-medical curriculum. However, my experiences have shown me that although this path feels uncertain, there are students and campus organizations that make journey worthwhile. My Pre-Health advisor always believed in my success and gave me the tools and resources to make this recognition on my own.
After nearly 4 gap years and post-baccalaureate coursework, I am elated to say that I gained acceptance to numerous medical schools including UC Davis, UC Irvine PRIME-LC, University of Illinois, Michigan State University, Rush Medical College, and Stanford School of Medicine.
To the next aspiring physician, I’d like to emphasize the importance of reflection throughout your journey. It is only when we fully understand our story that we are best able to share it with the world.

❗️Southern California Pre-PT Conference❗️
Happy Monday Pre-Physical Therapy Community! Save the date for our biggest event of the year! Join us for a day of panels tailored toward undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in the field of physical therapy. Physical therapists of varying specialities will be discussing the diversity of the profession and attendees will have an opportunity to network with admissions representatives from various Southern California DPT programs. We hope for students to create lasting professional connections with other Pre-Physical Therapy students and accomplished physical therapists within the region.
Our increased priority for the safety of our speakers and guests has made us decide to host this year’s conference virtually. Due to our event being virtual, we have opened it up to all Pre-PT students across the US and abroad to join in on our conference.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to join! If you or anyone you know is interested in registering for this event, please visit the Eventbrite link in our bio to register. "With the transition back to campus, for some students, they may be more inclined not to return to campus but do more Zoom classes and remain remote, because of the caregiving responsibilities,” said USC Family Caregiver Support Center Director Donna Benton. “For others, it was a hard decision, but they did come back to campus, which meant that the families had to find someone else to step in for caregiving.”
USC students speak about caregiving experiences - Daily Trojan Students and faculty discuss the realities and hardships of caregiving.
