⚠️⚜️ ♻️ In December 2022, the manufacturing and importing of six plastic items were prohibited (plastic checkout bags, drinking straws, cutlery, stir sticks, ring carriers and food-service ware made from plastics). Sales of these items will be banned as of Dec. 20, 2023.

In British Columbia: 5 municipalities banned plastic bags in September 2020 and off only reusable or paper in groceries.

I have to say Vancouver is very impressive with their sustainability & offer many resources, so many thrift stores and eco shops where you can buy unpackaged food & zero waste products. ✈️✨🍁🌎💫

You can help the planet just by taking a few moments. We need your help! Submit a public comment urging LA City Council to approve LA Sanitation’s recommendations* and pass an ordinance this year!

The City Council will review this on Wednesday 2/16 at 10AM PST to approve various policies to reduce plastic in LA.

These policies will:

*What will these policy recommendations do?

1️⃣ Prohibit the manufacturing, sale, and use of specific of styrofoam

2️⃣ Lift all exemptions on the plastic bag ban

3️⃣ Adopt policies for LA City operations, departments, and events that prohibit single-use plastic and styrofoam

4️⃣ Implement comprehensive single-use plastic reduction strategies, including a mandate to require reusable foodware for on-site dining and a fee on disposables
