Our staff recently underwent Cognitive Coaching and explored strategies to enhance our coaching skills, allowing us to empower educators and leaders! The seminar will help LAEP team members become stronger as individual leaders and collaborators.
The opening of our new Early Head Start Childcare Center this year was a highlight we'll never forget! We can't wait to welcome even more children and families next year as we provide children ages 0-3 with high-quality education and development!
We have 50 spaces available for our next Ready2Teach program! Program supports include:
Earn and Learn Opportunities: Participants engage in paid pre-apprenticeships at licensed childcare facilities where they receive practical experience, intentional coaching, and mentorship.
Professional Development: Experienced LAEP staff supplement college coursework with infant and toddler education and workforce development training.
Wrap-Around Support: Connecting participants to services like childcare vouchers, transportation stipends, and a laptop loan program to support successful program completion.

Our Community Schools staff participated in team-wide professional development that focused on the framework, pillars, and fundamentals of the program. The summer is the ideal time for us to grow in training and practice that help us better serve the community.

Our EHS staff who facilitated the Opening Doors (Abriendo Puertas) parent workshop handed out certificates to South LA, Inglewood, and Hawthorne participants.
Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors - National is the nation's first evidence-based parent leadership program designed by and for Latino parents with children ages 0- 5. The mission of AP/OD is to support parents as leaders of their families and as their child's first and most influential teacher.

The LAEP team gathered for an all-staff retreat to discuss the vision, mission, and plans for our organization. We managed to have a little (a lot of) fun along the way, too.

Our EHS homebase program allows parents to meet twice per month for socialization activities for their child as they collaborate with other children and develop skills. Our parents also build community and connections with other parents. This past Friday, the program was offered at partner school Miramonte Elementary.
We celebrated the promotion of our first Early Head Start Childcare Center class by taking them on a field trip to Discovery Cube Los Angeles!
It's been an incredible year of discovery for our students and for us. Thank you to all of our parents and partners for helping us create a new high-quality education environment fostering growth and development.

Students of Los Angeles Unified School District enjoyed their final day of school, including those at our Ford Boulevard Elementary where 5th-graders enjoyed a kick ball game vs. staff! Congrats to all students on another year. Have an inspiring summer full of adventure and new discovery.
Our ECE team spent Saturday at the Miramonte Elementary Community Resource Fair where we connected families with tools for success and even heard from the school’s band!
